Yea, ESL came up to Lombard a few years ago for a playoff game against Glenbard East and it ended how you would expect. The Rams should’ve been the ones to take their happy asses down there.

That said, what does the history of illinois hoops playing as the higher seeded team on the road have to do with the question?
At the end of the day, I really don’t care, as this interaction has no bearing on anything, and it’s not going to change the way the IHSA seeds anything.
East St. Louis is dominant enough, I'm sure they won't care where they play at. That's why they're willing to schedule out-of-state schools during the regular season.
And to be honest, it's not as big of an issue for some of the larger class schools to make those longer trips. The IHSA at least does make a concession during the 4A basketball tournament where they'll have sectional games involving Quad Cities and Metro East teams sometimes played at a neutral site rather than at the sectional host due to travel for the competing schools.

I honestly don't know, but what was the driving factor in going to 8 classes in fball and 4 in bball? I liked 6 and 2. I truly feel it is clouded as to who the best teams are in state. There are and have been times where you can't tell me the 6a champ isn't better than anyone in 7 or 8. I know there will always be a little cloud as some current 6a schools could fall to 5 or 4, but I think it created a more definite as to who the best are.
Basketball for sure should 2 classes. When Simeon and Morgan Park were rolling they weren't 4a, but you'd put them against anyone, he'll I think 1 of them was in 2.

The only reason Sullivan went undefeated is because they are a 3A school playing in a conference with smaller 1A/2A schools. I remember years ago when they were in the conference then known as the Central Illinois Conference with schools like Maroa-Forsyth, Decatur St. Teresa (who by the way got an absolutely raw deal from the conference when they were kicked out), Tuscola, and Moweaqua Central A&M where they would get absolutely dominated very week. Now Sullivan is a big fish in a small pond.
Some good match-ups in central Illinois next weekend including QND/Maroa-Forsyth, and East St. Louis/Chatham Glenwood.

CG 71-6 over Senn in the opening round. CG pulled starters after Q1 at 38-0. Yes that was a one seed and not an 8-9 game, but Senn had no business being in that playoff spot.
Being dominant isn’t the issue. The issue is having to the team and fans drive 6 hours each way to play a lower seed. Also LWE might be on the road in the semi’ against Loyola. I would bet they would want that game at home
That always happens with the cpl teams. Simeon and Morgan park will have competitive teams but that’s about it

Kankakee and Lyons moved on to the quarterfinals. Prospect lost to Normal Community 52-49.
2A might be the most open bracket this year, no clear favorite with Wilmington bumped to 3A, and just about everybody left has a puncher's chance of winning it. QND probably the current favorite, but their matchup this week with Maroa-Forsyth should be a toss-up.
As for Chicago Christian in Palos, they're a real solid team this year, new coach, new scheme, senior-laden. Rarely make noise in the playoffs (I think this is the second time ever in the quarters for them). Took it to a really good Tri-Valley team on their turf last weekend.
This might be the worst quarterfinals I can remember.

Go York! York Class of '95 grad and my nephew currently goes there. Aside from this last few years they haven't been all that good in a really long time. When I was a student we were okay, but had inaugural Biletnikoff Award winner Tim Stratton (who played TE for Purdon't) as our QB.
It was a horrible program and Fitz turned it around and left for Marist. The program is in good hands with Gelsomino.

When I was there a good season was 4-5. back then the Private School League , while not great , was still tough for us as our program was still very new . The PSL is no longer around and the league they are in now is not good , so qualifying for playoffs is not nearly as difficult .
this is the furthest they have ever gone . I read the new head coach was formerly an asst at Mt Carmel . good for them . I keep up with them thru MaxPrep and with my younger brother who also played there after me .

Montinin with a very ho-hum win over Princeton in 3A. 24-7 and it didn't need to be that close. The offensive playcalling has been not too good as of late. They play this uninspired next week, they will go down.
