Not surprised he chose to transfer, but bummed. I understand there may have been chemistry or work ethic factors at play; I know absolutely nothing for sure one way or the other on that score.

I think DJW transferring will have an impact for this season for sure, bigger than the absence of JCL because we lost a 6'7 wing who has a lot of potential and would really help at the 3 if DaW redshirts. A 3 rotation of MA/AJ/DJW is really nice. However in the long term, adding a guy like THT and having him develop is better. Plus, if he doesn't want to be here then whatever!

Okay why does everyone always say win all your home games in their blue print for the season like it's just a formality? Even last year it was win all your home games and a few road games...When has a team ever won all their home games in the big ten as a middle of the road team?

I'll happily take 60-70%.

I think its more because we used to play each team home and away. So its a place to start, and easy to try to keep track of, if you lose at home then you need a win on the road kind of thing. Plus the fact we beat IU both times in 89 kept them from getting a number 1 seed

He was a touted recruit that wasn't given an opportunity to showcase what he had to offer. We always heard that he "practiced well," but who didn't under Groce? Showed flashes in-game, and was usually summarily yanked after these displays (?????).

Adnarel, I will agree with you that DJ Williams' transfer will be painful if he thrives under a new coach who gives him a REAL opportunity to contribute. If that happens it will be proof positive that DJ was grossly (pun intended) mishandled by the head coach and his staff. Like you, I know absolutely nothing for sure, but I DO know that DJ Williams gets a lot of love on the Loyalty forums. I am puzzled why that is.

With the addition of GregE and Auto I am assuming KN will see time at the 3. Don't believe JG would have put DJW on the end of the bench if he was really an asset. He did bring KN and TJL into the rotation (although not timely) to displace more senior players. Don't pretend to be an expert but don't understand the loyalty to someone who never made a contribution.

I think DJW could have had an impact this season mostly because I don't know if AJ or DWill will either a) bring much more of an impact than DJW b)in Dwill case be healthy to play. But in the long term it is best for both parties that DJW left..

I'm not sure I agree or disagree one way or another, but I am interested in hearing you build your case for this. If you don't mind, that is.

Not arguing one way or another but didn't he not start at Simeon?

He started plenty but was benched at times his senior year for a low motor, which he's totally guilty of. But let's not be ridiculous, Williams was a top 50 recruit through 2013 and had other high major offers. Not all players pan out and he sadly may be an example, although I hold out hope for him. I remember once upon a time people were fawning over this mixtape

That's what it was. Yeah I seem to recall having some cognitive dissonance wrt his ranking and playing time and/or benching. For the record I had hoped he would stay, still thought he would develop into a serviceable player in BU's system, but oh well...

Big Ten commish Jim Delany has the league coaches concerned and a bit nervous. Here's why:

Madison Square Garden move proves tricky for Big Ten

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo contemplated playing a scrimmage against another Big Ten foe. Purdue's Matt Painter thought about holding a nonconference game to help alleviate fears of rust from what could be a lengthy layoff. There has also been consideration from coaches in the league of bringing in a Division II cupcake just prior to the NCAA tournament.

Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany knows it was a risky decision, moving the conference tournament up a week in order to get it in New York, and specifically, Madison Square Garden. But after recently adding Rutgers and Maryland to the league, Delany wanted to make sure he expanded the league's footprint in the Northeast corridor.

This is such garbage. Is having this tournament in MSG really going to raise the profile of the B1G in the Northeast? I think sports fans have heard of the B1G, and I doubt CBB fans in that region are going to suddenly become B1G fans because a few games are played in NYC.

I hope we schedule a non-con game the following week. The layoff would be pretty extreme.

Good Case of Someone forgetting what they are and desiring to become something else. At the cost of losing your base. Stupid is as Stupid does. I have done well at getting work centers to get back to what they were supposed to do and doing it well. Instead of chasing pipedreams and the latest great initiative somebody had.

Get the tourney in Chicago and make it a celebration of the Big Ten schools and alumni. Hope to see attendance and viewership down at Madison Garden, this will get his attention.

Despite being local and being able to attend these games, I would prefer the tournament stay in the midwest. At least the tournament should be better attended than the one in DC.

Yeah, it seems dubious to me as well, but if Delany thinks it make the tourney a more valuable property, then it probably does. I don't care much for the tourney being less accessible, but OTOH, I've never felt very strongly about the BTT anyway.

Coaches will adjust.

Looks like Jontay Porter will be reclassifying, that Mizzou game this year is going to be tough...
