Meh, keep doin what you're doin. And don't ever change you're name, unless you decide to change it to BUsTrashCan. I could live with that.Everyone's a critic.

Ken Pomeroy finally came out with his 2020 - 21 rankings. He has us at #18 in the nation and 6th in the B1G.
Wisconsin is tops at #7.
There are no projected records for B1G teams. I'm sure that is because we don't have a schedule.
Anyway, just one more sign that a season is on the horizon.
I think that is correct. There really should be no criticizing of him personally. It is his algorithm. It is supposed to be unbiased. Obviously, there will be flaws and outliers.Does anyone know how Kenpom comes up with his pre-season list? My understanding is that he does not "rank" teams but rather runs an algorithm that factors in things like last season's performance, coaches history, team turnover, and possibly recruiting class ranking? I'm not sure if he considers any sort of "balancing" to account for a team with really good PGs/SGs but no wings/centers or something similar?
It's effectively taking last year's final efficiency ratings (had IL 30th at +17.23) and factoring in effective player improvement among returning players, subtracting efficiency from players leaving. So with a good amount of return, their projected preseason rating is at 20.05. Losing Feliz, Griffin and Nichols keeps it from being much higher.Does anyone know how Kenpom comes up with his pre-season list? They probably didn't play enough minutes last year to have any meaningful stats to include.Noticing on Torvik that Jermaine and BBV aren't mentioned. Did I miss something with them, or are they just not included due to their presumptive lack of playing time?
Probably just due to their lack of playing time last year. They have similar issues with freshman. It's one of the (several) reasons the projects aren't very good until they get some actual games under their belts.Noticing on Torvik that Jermaine and BBV aren't mentioned. I personally think of us as a top-10 team. I get the optimism that we might be top-5, but having been a bad 3 pt shooting team last year, and losing our best 3 pt shooter in Alan Griffin, I don't quite see us in that top group. I also think Feliz was more of a loss than most here realize. Hard to know how this season will go, and a lot to be excited about. I'd like to think we'll be in the top-25 all season, even if we lose some of the tougher games (and it sounds like we'll have plenty of meat to the schedule). The team's projection are probably little worse some thought, but we are losing two pretty valuable pieces and Freshmen who are not top 5-10 are not really ever predicted to add much value. Still a ton of reasons for optimism.
Of course we did get Kofi and Ayo - kinda more than makes up for Feliz and Griffin IMO, even though they are different players. Only so many minutes to go around.I personally think of us as a top-10 team. Losing 22 pts and 12 rebounds per game (conference play) certainly affected our ranking. Believe Kipper and Alan have been replaced with Jacob and Adam ( and maybe improved). Dre’s offensive production won’t be a problem but his toughness and defense may be a problem initially. On the plus side I expect Ayo and Kofi to be improved and expect them to dominate their matchups. If Giorgi or Hawkins step up at the four, we will be in the top five.I personally think of us as a top-10 team. Grandison and Hutchinson both have experience, just not at our level.I cant wait but I think we need to cool our jets just a bit. after Kofi, Ayo, Trent, Georgi and Da'Monte we have virtually to minutes experience. Lots of potential but its hard to evaluate how quickly those others are going to help.
this could be a top 25 team or a top 5 team depending on how quickly they mesh.
Curbelo's penetration and passing skills will help make up for Dre's toughness.Losing 22 pts and 12 rebounds per game (conference play) certainly affected our ranking.
