ACC released their full season schedules today. Hoping the B1G isn't far behind. That being said the B1G was far behind when it came to football, so I'm really hoping we learned a lesson from that and we get our schedule here in the next week.

There's a lot of hand-wringing about people like Wisconsin being ranked ahead of us. Remember, these are human voters, and we have been crappy for a while. So, while they might all agree we look better on paper, we've still got to prove we can play with expectations. Wisconsin has proven that recently.

For many voters it's as simple as Wisconsin won a share of the Big 10 regular season, finished the season ranked ahead of us, and returned all 5 starters. Sure, if you look beyond that you can make a stronger case for Illinois to be ahead but this is a preseason poll. It's going to be biased towards past results. I'm hoping this team earns a higher ranking by the end of the season.

There were games last year when it seemed like the other team wasn’t even guarding him. Being able to hit an unguarded 3 with regularity would improve his game so much in my own worthless opinion.

Agreed, but at least his game is at a higher level than when we were working with Jaylon Tate on the floor. Those could be some long frustrating games. Seemed like a nice kid, but boy was it hard to watch how little he was guarded and not produce.

I think you pretty much nailed it. I can only imagine the hand wringing here if a team that finished behind us the previous year and returned less players leapfrogged us in the preseason rankings. Plus and even more simply put, I'm pretty sure fans care more about the accuracy of November rankings than the actual voters do.

We got them by one point last year. Grif and Feliz both had a big hand in the win.

Sorry I haven’t been keeping up to date, but what’s the status of injuries on our team? Is Hutcherson 100%? Will BBV be ready to go?

lol. Love that Ayo video. I know others have noted it here but really, young guys, find someone who loves you the way Andy Katz loves the Illini.

Are Hutcherson and Verdonk back practicing? Hope they can get healthy just to improve the overall depth of the team, even if it is just by being able to participate in practice to increase competition.

From the video posted earlier it appears that Hutch is indeed practicing. Still doesn't look like BBV is back yet though.

I just received an email from the Illinois ticket office with the following: Unfortunately, we will not be able host any fans inside State Farm Center for the upcoming season. There will be no ticket sales for basketball games for the 2020-21 season. Tickets will only be distributed to families of the basketball student-athletes and staff members who are playing and coaching the team..

Disappointing but expected. :(

I appreciate how they informed me that my money would be applied to next years tickets...
I'm guessing I will still owe them next year even after applying

Duke announces "No Fans" at Cameron...that will change the atmosphere of that game quite a bit!

This is really unfair!

We Illini fans are going to miss our chance to see the camera zeroing in on some dorky Cameron Crazy crying when they realize their team is actually going to loose a basketball game.
