This is random, but I feel really grateful we still have OA on our squad. I expected him to be here a year max, rejuvenate his image, and go back to a blue blood. Speaks volumes about Brad that a guy with OA's recruiting chops and rep would not only be willing to come here, but stay awhile too. He has played a massive and easily overlooked role in bringing us back. Though expect him to move on some point soon-ish, I'm hoping he sees the long-term potential and decides to stay awhile.

I think you're wrong. OA isn't going to leave for another assistant job. Head coach and I think he'll be fairly picky.

Seth Davis put out his annual All-Glue team this morning at The Athletic ($). This was his 21st year doing it and it's the 5th time an Illini has made the team. Trent made it this year. I know it's Seth Davis and I know it's a silly concept, but still cool to see Trent getting that kind of recognition. Feliz made the "team" last year but it had been 15 years since Roger went back to back in 2004 and 2005. Sergio was named the captain in 2001.

Great write up of Trent. Deserves own thread IMO

No matter what happens from here on out, I'm really grateful for this team. It was a long boring winter. They provided some much needed joy (and occasional frustration) throughout. It's been a great ride. This group of young men have a lot to be proud of. FWIW, I'm certainly proud of them.

Hopefully, they earn a shiny memento for their efforts over the coming weeks. One of my favorite seasons as a fan of any team in any sport.

Let's show go show Rutgers how much we have improved since December. We owe them one!

Illini up to #3 on KenPom. This is of incredible importance because the last 3 NCAA champs finished the prior season as #2 on Kenpom. Who finished #2 on KenPom last year? Gonzaga.

We won't catch Gonzaga in KenPom this season (which is good, we need to finish #2, remember?). Let's keep winning and at worst secure an NCAA championship next year!

Late post here, but wow....I’ve been at a loss for words. I was too young to remember much from the 2005 team. My best memories as an Illini fan were of that 2013 Brandon Paul team. Watching the national coverage right now and seeing Illinois as a 1 seed is surreal. I’m blown away by by how hard this team has worked this season. They were 9-5 on January 16, and today they’re 23-6. B1G 10 champs. This is the most fun I’ve ever had with college basketball and I can’t wait for Friday.

You must be really young, are you 20 yet?
