I don't think there is any "sharing" about it - it's pretty clear we win the big ten in that scenario for whatever that is worth. We would be a half game ahead of them in the standings. That's just how win-loss records work. To your point, it's not Illinois' fault UM only played 17 games. Football had a more difficult decision because it determined who went to the B10 championship game and thus had huge national implications hence the % rule, bball doesn't have that challenge, so just straight record worksIf this scenario happens where we go 16-4 and mich goes 14-3 and we beat them they need to give us a share. We would have 2 more wins and head to head and they would have better win percentage. We should not be put at a disadvantage because mich chose not to play all the games like we did. We can't assume mich would win the last three just because their win percentage says they would. Make them play the last three to win it outright or give us a share. Seems like a good compromise in a pandemic.
It's not worth enough (nothing is on the line, not a tourny birth or seeding) to create a new rule for who "wins" the big ten. Likely a moot point given we would have to win our next two and Michigan would have to lose another one, but I would be shocked if it worked any other way in that scenario
