Not an answer to my question. The simple fact is that we can-we did-win without Ayo. And we can win without Kofi. Would I have liked to see them back? Sure. But the world isn’t going to end without them.

I’m amused, actually, by all the experts who are certain that Illinois will be middle of the B1G this year.

We have guards to back up Ayo but the backup for Kofi left also and the drop off of talent is huge. Omar replaces Giorgi but still leaves a huge hole. Hawk and BBV are potentially very good but unproven. Really not worried about offense but defense and rebounding are a concern.

Giorgi never was a very good rebounder. Maybe a bbv can step up and give us some boards. Not sure about hawk or lieb though.

I believe Belo will be dominant and leave after next year. Probably will be drafted just outside the lottery due to size and not being a deadeye shooter. I’m thinking he will put up something like an 18/8/5 stat line.

I have a feeling this will be one of those teams that will frustrate us for the first part of the year.....then make us smile a lot in the second half.

Once they gel defensively and get some rhythm....it could be special. Seems to be somewhat of a trend with BU coached teams as well.

I’m interested to see where our defensive philosophy falls. If gentry and to some extent Walker were the guys who calmed us down a bit, what do we do with neither one of them around?

Obviously BU has a deny background. With Bruce, Chester also has a deny defense back ground. Alexander I’m not sure. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a little more pressure again.

Frustrated is a bit harsh for my line of thought, given we are losing 2 first team All Americans from last year....Frustrated is losing to a lesser team in the dance last year.....It will take time to figure out rotations , etc b/c of the influx of some really good frosh and a couple of transfers.....Needless to say , the addition of 3-4 new faces on the staff will take time also, but I have faith in BU to lead, Chester, as an alum and now an experienced AC and Alexander's ties to BU and the Illini program that we will see a different kind of team early , but , as was said, we will start to gel hopefully before the start of the main part of the B1G in January...

I am looking forward to seeing the Illini play this coming year and hearing rabid fans in the SFC cheering on...I am going to up the volume on my tv just to hear the roars....I really missed that last year, especially considering how great a team we had...

Eh, not as much of a shooter as you’d think. 34% 3pt during the regular season. Bill Simmons thinks Tre is more Steve Nash than Steph Curry and I agree. Not saying Belo could shoot 34% in the league right now, but he has picture perfect form on his jump shot. I think he will get there.
Tre’s 48 pts tonight were pretty impressive. Can definitely be streaky, though.

I know it's early but we should be getting some early practice reports that Plummer has broken Alex Legion's consecutive 3 pt record.:)

Difference is that Plummer has gone pollo loco several times on the college level. I wouls even say he is a consistent 3 point shooter.

Legion made his first 2-3 pointers, one being a highly contested shot in a close game against Purdue. Believe Alex's issues were not having yet developed college level skills, may have gotten there with committment and time.
