Chester posted a video on his Instagram - I recommend watching it if you can. The video is Kofi talking about a late game timeout play scenario. What's important to note is who Kofi names would be in the game for that...
1. Curbelo
2. Trent
3. Grandison
4. Kofi
5. Alfonso

My guess is those are our main contributors this year and the most impactful players in practice.
I agree w/ those saying don't expect too much of #5 together with #1 and #2. 1-4 are certainly the main contributors. All four should average double figure scoring. Then we've got five guys we can mix in with Williams, Hutch, Hawkins, Plummer, and Payne. Excellent nine-man rotation (if everyone's healthy). If any of the FR are able to push for minutes (in non-blowout games) ahead of any of those nine, that would be an unexpected treat.

While I don't expect 1, 2, and 5 to play too much together all at once, that is no reason to think Alfonso wont be one of our top 5 for minutes. Kofi felt confident in him enough to say he'd be in for a late game situation. Not to mention in terms of our newcomers, he's the most proven.

Why would you believe 5 ( 13 point average last year) is not going to be a prime time contributor, but 3 (4.6 point average) is?

practicing "late game" does not mean most game minutes for players listed. plummer and grandison are very good FT shooters. The lineup makes a lot of sense if they are practicing an up 1 with 27 sec with the ball or similar < 60 sec scenario. In the D and O substitutions, likely, williams subs in on D in scenario without the ball.

Comments about the frosh quickness confirms what I was guessing. We don’t always appreciate Trent and Belo’s quickness and suspect Plummer is in same range. Really believe it makes more difference in guard defense than size. Really was demonstrated offensively in Michigan game when they both seemed to penetrate at will.

"But Curbelo has gotten stronger. I wish I could say his bench press has gone up this much, we just haven’t tested. But he’s gotten significantly stronger."

Not to get all Eeyore-ish here, and I'm happy to hear that Belo is stronger, but the S&C coach really should measure that kind of thing, regardless of whatever aberrations are occurring elsewhere in the world. He doesn't need to disclose it publicly but it's necessary to measure and track it.

"We can talk about strength and conditioning with Kof, but there’s not a guy on our team who can beat him in a three-quarter-court sprint. He’s the fastest guy in short bursts."

Watch him smoke Cole Anthony end line to end line when they were at Oak Hill (before he got into shape BTW)

They just haven’t done the second round of testing yet. Says it in the article.

Because Plummer's not at Utah St anymore. And he's got two guys ahead of him who are going to play 30 or so min/game. J Grand I may be generous with double digit scoring, but I really like what he provided when he became starter. I don't have stats, but I'm guessing his ppg was higher after he was inserted into the lineup.

Plummer played at Utah—i.e., for a PAC-12 program that was part of a conference that showed out in the tourney. He’s good.

I believe Grandison is a 15 minute situational player at the 3 and 4 postions. I fail to see how we can be a good rebounding team with him as the main 4.

Agreed, he sure seems to rebound when we needed it late last year, in games started average was 4.2, he will be in the main rotation. It's going to be very interesting to see how the starting lineup shakes out.

Interesting…considering he was a starter at the 4 on a team that was #4 in the country in rebound differential last season. Don’t underestimate his being “old man” strong. Dude has played a lot of division I basketball.

If we didn’t have Kofi, you would have an argument. King Alpha is about to earn his nickname. I don’t think anyone else’s rebounding numbers are going to look great.
