Disappointing that Illinois has only 2 weekends B1G home games, Iowa and Northwestern. It's tough for St. Louis and Chicago fans to see one of the marque games.
At least the Chicago fans have an opportunity to see Illinois play on a Saturday in Evanston.

But we get Arizona on a Saturday, and Michigan & Rutgers on Fridays, so overall it's not too bad.

If I counted correctly MSU has 6 weekend games, Michigan, Purdue, and Maryland have 4. No equity in the B1G scheduling

We were 8th in average attendance in the B1G in 19/20, need to start pumping up those numbers this season, hopefully get into the top 5. Since the renovation capped our maximum capacity at 15,500, we would still be behind Nebraska, Indiana, and Wisconsin if we sold out every game.

A couple of selfish/fan-centric notes at first glance … cons first! :)

CONS
1) Not great for my away game/road trip ambitions unless I want to burn PTO. :( Iowa - a perfect mix for an arena filled with orange and possibly the Krush - on a MONDAY?? Was trying to get to Purdue, as well.
2) ZERO Saturday conference games at home?! Jeez. Already planning on going to the Arizona game, but I certainly wanted another Champaign trip. :( We’ll see what we can do with Michigan on that Friday.

PROS
1) Love that the Northwestern game in Evanston is on a Saturday, and I’ll probably try to make that one into a weekend event. Expect to see a LOT of orange, just like 2020.
2) This might finally be my excuse to make it to either MSU or IU for an away game; both would be fun Saturday trips, I imagine. Any suggestions from fans who’ve been to either town/arena??

While our average attendance started out “meh,” we sold out 5 of our last 6 home games and drew 15,000 or more pretty much the second we scored that upset at Wisconsin. Fans bought in after that, and they didn’t get the chance to show it last year (besides our limited but impressive turnout at the restricted BTT!).

Student tickets sold out in 3 hours. We’re back to the old days, I think!

May have to make a road trip over to Iowa in Dec. Carver is a great place to watch a game and it's a blast when we stomp them (and stomp them we will).

Does anyone know when Gavitt Game tickets go on sale? Trying to get some and I can’t find anything online.

Hopefully students will be back for those Michigan and Purdue games.
If you give them a reason, they will be. The ones with apartments for sure. The real question is if the DIA can convince university housing to let kids stay longer/come back sooner from break

I really hope something gets figured out. What a waste to have games between projected top 3 conference teams with no student atmosphere. Those could literally determine the path to the regular season conference championship.
