Are his abs standing right next to him or a step back? He's standing differently, so the only obvious difference is the abs, tbh.

He stepped back but his abs stayed right thereAre his abs standing right next to him or a step back?
Can't tell from that angleHe stepped back but his abs stayed right there
The shoulders are what I also noticed right away. He's standing differently, so the only obvious difference is the abs, tbh.
3 big players here. 1 transferred, one hasn’t played in BIG yet. 1 Illini.
I don't quite understand how a player like Ivey or any upperclassmen can go undrafted then be a projected top 10 pick in the preseason of the next year. The only possible reason is he was a projected first rounder last season, but decided to go another year in college, which to me seems crazy.Vecenie has Kofi going at #43, in his way, way too early '22 mock v2.0 ($): https://theathletic.com/2863922/202...p-as-seasons-gear-up-but-class-has-questions/
Other notables: Timme #44, Jaden Hardy #5, AJ Griffin #7, Ivey #8, TyTy #12, Caleb Houston #13, Max Christie #16 (IBIWISI), Bryce McGowens #18, Keegan Murray #25, T. Shannon #27, Liddell #39, Jackson-Davis #59.
He wasn't in the draft, was he? How is this any different than other sophs who went in the lottery?I don't quite understand how a player like Ivey or any upperclassmen can go undrafted then be a projected top 10 pick in the preseason of the next year. The nba drafts on potential. You consistently flash enough potential pre-nba and they draft you high to reach your potential in the league.I don't quite understand how a player like Ivey or any upperclassmen can go undrafted then be a projected top 10 pick in the preseason of the next year. Exactly, which is why it is so difficult for jrs and srs to be picked very high (top 7 or 8') in the draft. The nba drafts on potential. You consistently flash enough potential pre-nba and they draft you high to reach your potential in the league.
Yeah, I think what he's saying though is Ivey didn't declare for the draft, which he presumably would have if he'd been a lottery pick, he hasn't had any opportunity to flash any additional potential since last season, and he's a year older (a negative to NBA scout). So where is this projection coming from? It'd be a different story if the season had started and he'd shown something. The nba drafts on potential. The projection is from his play during the U19 USA team. Didn't watch it so no comment but that is why he and Edey are getting more hype.Yeah, I think what he's saying though is Ivey didn't declare for the draft, which he presumably would have if he'd been a lottery pick, he hasn't had any opportunity to flash any additional potential since last season, and he's a year older (a negative to NBA scout). Ah, that makes a lot more sense, thanks for the explanation. The projection is from his play during the U19 USA team. Didn't watch it so no comment but that is why he and Edey are getting more hype.
More importantly he has to improve his ball screen defense. Mike LaTulip said as much on the recent basketball preview pod.I still don't see much changing for Kofi in terms of NBA stock unless he pushes him game beyond 20 feet.
Ivey was 8th in minutes played for the U-18 squad this summer, but second in points. I think he surprised the USA coaches. He improved a tremendous amount over the course of last B1G season. The projection is from his play during the U19 USA team. He reminded me of Ayo in the games I saw him. He will be a handful.Ivey was 8th in minutes played for the U-18 squad this summer, but second in points. I think he surprised the USA coaches. He improved a tremendous amount over the course of last B1G season.
He's got great genes & role models. His Dad and Grandfather played in the NFL. His mom is the women's Basketball HC at Notre Dame.
He is going to be a problem for a lot of teams.
fify, Kofi needs to increase his free throw % to be truly dominant.Seth: Thanks for giving Kofi some primo bulletin board material. I'm sure he'll put it to good use while he ups his free throw % to match the rest of the Big Ten this year, including that of all three of your "Big Ten AA frontcourt players."
If we hang a banner this year, maybe Kofi will even give you a shoutout.
The chatter between Chester and Trent is amazing.
Biggest thing I love here is Trent pushing Kofi on not bringing the ball down low. From a developmental lense, he has to do that by start of season.
awesome...ty 4 posting
