Is Kofi the only college player that did what he did ???have any other players nationwide been alleged to have done this ???

I find it hard to believe with the uncertainty of the NIL coming into effect that anything Kofi has done warrants a suspension , let alone an EIGHT game time frame......

I really dispise the NCAA and Emmert as taken the NCAA to a whole new basement level.......Known cheaters such as Wade, Miller Self and others continue cheating without any notable penalties and now this with KOFI ????

Anyone else planning on heading to Kansas City for the Thanksgiving invitational? I'm thinking of making the 6 hour drive down there for the Cincinnati game. Hoping Kofi will be available to play.
I will be there. One of the sections behind what I hope is Illinois bench. 6th row. Exciting!

Minnesota is going to be BAD this year. Like really, really bad. I can't see them beating anyone in the top half of the B10.
That Rutgers team went 2-16 in the B1G with the other half of their wins coming against 4-14 Penn State. Bad teams can beat good teams sometimes, even when they are basement dweller bad.

Yes they can. I would say the odds of Minnesota beating anyone in the talent range of Indiana or higher will be lower than Rutgers' chances that season.

It happens several times every season....and yet too many think it can't happen. Especially at B1G level, it happens every season. And it will happen again.

We have to acknowledge one thing. Teams play on a bell curve scale. Even great teams play their worst and the very worst teams overlap curves with them sometimes when they play their best. It does not happen often, but we must not forget that fact. Great teams have to be ready and ooze killer instinct every time they take the floor. Good teams don't always do that.

Little change of topic, I watched some extended highlights of Nebraska's and Michigan St's exhibition games and wanted to share some thoughts.

Mich St vs Ferris St

Gabe Brown is the most exciting player Sparty has had since Jason Richardson but is also 6'8". Dude is an insane athlete and is going to be a matchup nightmare, especially if he hits threes.
Max Christie is that dude and luckily we'll only have to see him for one year. He went up for one dunk where his athleticism really surprised me. But he's smart, a really good slasher, big body and I think he'll win B1G Freshman of the Year. They'll need his scoring prowess.
They might have issues at PG. Walker didn't look that great and Hoggard can't hit the broad side of a barn. They had good moments and could be a solid duo but TBD.
Hall is an excellent all-around player and looks to have gained some confidence. He's a winning basketball player.
Hauser is horrific defensively. We should be able to abuse him constantly.
Not sure if it's intentional for just this game but they really played at a high pace. Like straight running out after made baskets, every possession. Something to watch.
They shot free throws even worse than us.
They're about 10 men deep and I think they'll be really good towards the end of the year.

Nebraska vs Peru St (?)

Alonzo Verge in the B1G! He's a vet at this point and got pretty much anything he wanted against this school I've never heard of. He also made some really good passes.
This team is big, primarily at the guard positions. The McGowen bros are massive. Will be a really interesting matchup against our smaller perimeter guys.
Derrick Walker looked awesome. Him and Verge on the P&R is going to be deadly. Really agile for a 6'9" guy. Unfortunately for the Huskers, he looks to be their only truly competant big man.
Mayen looks to round a legitimately solid starting 5. The question will be their depth. They played I think 4 freshman big minutes.
Breidenbach is a 6'10" freshman who wears goggles. Very punchable face and his game is just ugly. We're gonna hate him for years to come.
Keon Edwards looks like a player. 6'7" transfer from Depaul who's bouncy and can shoot it.
Peru St shot the lights out but part of that was how horrible Nebraska was defensively on switches and rotations and how poorly they rebound. This was a 12 point game with 12 minutes left. Nebrasketball might be better this year but they're definitely going to have some growing pains. Verge may make a push for All B1G Teams.

Just take the trash NCAA to court. I don't think the law supports the NCAA's position. If they come and say NIL wasn't in place, just look at when the penalty was put in place and ask, what is the law now? Lawyers can probably tie it up until the season is over anyway, and then it won't matter.
No legal expertise but NCAA must also feel a risk if they don’t back off. Sue the individual who signs any penalty plus Emmett and his 2.4m salary for arbitrary actions causing a loss of future income in the millions. Those bastxxds shouldn’t be able to take or not take ridiculous actions without ramifications.

It occurs to me that leaking 4 to 8, will lead some to be grateful if the suspension turns out to be "only" four games long.

I'm not sure the guy who tweeted that has any more information than us, he probably saw 0440's or Indy's 2-3 week prediction and simply did the math.

As I posted earlier, might be some “negotiating” going on and the range might have something to do with potential Illinois/Kofi response — no appeal = 4 games.
