It would go a long way for your mental health to block him

Skyy 26 -> 31
Rodgers 61 -> 47
Epps 48 -> 43
Harris 98 -> 84
Illinois -> 7th Overall
I would love to see an extended retroactive analysis of the 'hit rate' of the various rating services, in terms of where they have the player rated and that player's eventual production (accounting for going pro of course). This year in particular would be fascinating in terms of Illinois' recruits. One of 247 or On3 is going to be validated as being competent and the other as garbage.

247sports Final 2022 Recruit Rankings release:
Skyy 26 -> 31
Rodgers 61 -> 47
Epps 48 -> 43
Harris 98 -> 84
Illinois -> 7th Overall

I forget, is there way to look at hypothetical rankings? Like what would our overall ranking be if we added:

A) Nance
B) Mayer
C) Ramey
D) All 3
E) Nance & Ramey
F) Mayer & Ramey
G) Nance & Mayer

LOL, I just realized that's a lot. But man, we have some time to kill before any announcements are gonna be made, so why not ask?

Is this real life? (Almost ) All Illinois commits went up in the rankings?!? In all seriousness, I believe this speaks to the respect Underwood (and Whitman) has brought to the BB program.

Yeah, realized my mistake as soon as I posted and immediately edited. At least we can understand why Skyy went down - not simply because he committed to Illinois.
And Skyy only dropped 5 spots, so nothing major. Epps climbed up 5 spots, solidly in the top 50 now.

Love the big jumps by Rodgers and Harris. It’s nice to have recruits that are going up in the rankings instead of down.

The home page shows a tweet from Scott Richey indicating our recruits are now at (31)(43)(47) & (84) in the final 247 player rankings for 2022. I went to the 247 site to look at the final rankings and it says there is no results for 2022 basketball player rankings. This is true when using the link that Scott provided as well. Anyone know what is up with that?

Those rankings are only for incoming high school players and do not factor in transfers.

Click the "Pos Rankings" and select "All" and see if that fixes it.

Obviously he had struggles at times but it actually makes perfect sense that Coleman is on the draft board for next year. The draft is mostly about potential and plenty of teams are willing to take chances on unproven guys that have the right build and tools.

Coleman is 6-10 with great length, good mobility for his size, and above average vision. Yes, he’s sloppy at times, but it can be cleaned up. And no, he’s not a good shooter, but he does shoot and does have range, and he can develop it. And he can get stronger.

I completely understand why Brad constantly says about Coleman to the media “he has no idea how good he can be”. Coleman’s build and game has a high ceiling and fits the NBA’s current style perfectly even though he’s still extremely raw. Will he ever fully realize his potential? Who knows, but I bet some NBA team will gladly take a chance on him.

Since PODZ transferred down to Santa Clara, does that mean he did not have to waste his 1 free portal transfer? And he can play next year for SC then portal transfer for free to another D1 school? Or is SC still considered high enough D1 and he had to use his free portal service this year?

My scoring predictions

Skyy 16 ppg - score first mentality - used to being alpha dog and looking for his shot first
TSJ 14 ppg - upperclassman but played more complementary role at top 5 team Baylor. Hard to shift gears
RJ 12 ppg - More playing time will convert to more shot opportunities. Does not have a gunner mentality like Alphonso
Dain - 12 ppg - will be our primary inside scorer. Brad loves to feed the low post. See Giorgi then Kofi
Coleman 8 ppg - just does not look for his shot

Subtotal 62 ppg

Bench 10 ppg
I will be ecstatic if Dain can get 12 ppg. I think TSJ will be our leading scorer or at least I think that’s his plan.

I think we need to include this in the offense!

I know you're kidding, but two points.

One, this actually has some potential. I"m guessing there's some principal of physics here that would give someone more speed and of course prevent the need to cut on his own.

Two, not that it would likely have been called, but I'm guessing there's a rule against this. Kinda like you can't climb up someone's back for a dunk or rebound.

It's in danger of being called a moving screen... Brad Davison would have just run full speed right into their do-si-do and then stared at Bo Boroski waiting for the call.
