Had to look it up but Mayer started all 33 games at Baylor last year, yet only averaged 22 mpg.
I would think (or hope) that our roster for 22-23 might look like Baylor's for 21-22 in that they had:

7 guys average between 8.4 and 13.8 points per game (save you time 8.4, 9.2, 9.7, 9.8 Mayer, 13.5, 13.5 and 13.8)

Grant it they had some injuries but the same 7 guys averaged between 20.8 and 33.1 minutes.

One additional guy averaged 20.5 minutes and 6.4 points.

I want to play Baylor just so Mitch Hennessey will post again.
Baylor has some of the nicest fans I've met.

I was one of the suckers who bought a bunch of elite 8 tickets in 2021 thinking I'd attend the Illinois game and then sell the rest of the tickets on the secondary market for a profit (lol). Once Illinois got bounced, I was desperate to unload them for any amount of money. Long story short, a random Baylor fan from the internet stood outside the stadium in Indy trying to sell my tickets for me. FOR FREE. I offered to share the "profits" with him but he declined. Just felt sorry for me I guess.

Anyway, I'll never buy pre-sale ncaa tournament tickets again. 💸

Me too on buying early and liquidating after Loyola loss. I unloaded on stubhub at a significant loss....how did Baylor guy do for you?

I guess we're a couple of weeks from the end of summer practices?

It would be interesting (now, or in a couple of weeks, or both) to get early insider takes on how the rotation is looking based on observed performance, or overhearing chatter from the staff.

I'm very much NOT requesting another round of non-insiders guessing mpg based on prior seasons and a few minutes of youtube videos from a couple of high school exhibition games. 😉

For his own sake, hopefully he stars there for a year or two and has another opportunity at a high-major (with the way college athletics and transfer are nowadays)
If that’s what he wants, sure. If the goal is to play professionally, that is in no way a necessity. Didn’t skid from Santa Clara go to 15 in this year’s draft? Might end up being a case of “been there, done that,” and he ends liking Santa Clara better. Nothing wrong with that either.
