RE: Those 3-point percentage by year statistics that Dan has on the home page (and I cannot seem to find in this thread, where it's linked to), a few thoughts:
- I literally cannot even bring myself to imagine that we shot 40% from three in 2005. How frickin' cool does that sounds? Lmao. Makes it even more of a heartbreaker that we only shot 30% (and like 0% in our final 6 attempts) in the National Championship.
- I do remember our incredibly frustrating 2011 team shooting really well from three; even Tisdale could hit! I also remember a lot of Fake Comebacks in general in that era where we'd start making wild threes to cut the lead and make it close, even though it was too late.
- I'm surprised how bad our 2020 team shot it. I remember us not being great at threes that year, but I don't remember being quite as frustrated with that aspect of our game as I am with this year's team. I guess that goes to show you that if the rest of your offense is humming along and doesn't go into funks as often, you won't notice it as much.
- Also kind of surprised that the 2021 team shot the three better than the 2022 team ... in my MIND, at least, I remember Grandison and Frazier shooting it even better in 2022 than 2021, and obviously Plummer was a HUGE addition in that regard.
