That 2/3 line is looking less and less likely. Would need to almost win out. I'm no expert obviously but not a lot more chances for quad 1 wins
I wouldn't say that. If we go 23-8 (3 more losses this year) and win a game or two in the BTT, have a solid chance at a 3That 2/3 line is looking less and less likely. Would need to almost win out. I'm no expert obviously but not a lot more chances for quad 1 wins
Yep, guessing Illini have BU because his agent was shopping around and gauging interest and value.I personally am of the belief that BU's agent wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't shopping him around and gauging his value on the coaching market. It would be foolish and detrimental to his client if he didn't. And while it's no doubt frustrating to Josh, that's the price of hiring one of the best in the business who has continuous success. What we as fans can hope for is that Josh doesn't take that personally and react as Ron Guenther did with Bill Self before hiring Bruce Weber. Coach K was rumored for other jobs every other year (Mahomet, anyone?). The price of having a successful coach is that everyone is going to want him, whether realistically or in their imaginations.
Do not want a 4 or 5 seed. No sweet sixteen with those...I wouldn't say that. If we go 23-8 (3 more losses this year) and win a game or two in the BTT, have a solid chance at a 3
Agreed. I mean obviously we could easily make a Sweet Sixteen as a 4/5, but I’d REALLY rather not play an equal team in a Second Round game that will be pivotal for our program’s perception and trajectory. Making the Second Weekend this year is like breaking a barrier for Illini basketball.Do not want a 4 or 5 seed. No sweet sixteen with those...
If you have a SmartTV, Roku, or AppleTV you can download the app on the TV. You may be able to get a free 7 day trial. Peacock is NBCs streaming network. It actually has some pretty good TV content and movies besides the sports.Looking ahead, we've got a couple games on Peacock. This pisses me off. We don't have Peacock on our cable package so I won't get to see those games. I don't even know what Peacock is, but they always say streaming. Do you watch it on your computer? I admit to being an online dinosaur. It's almost as if my wife and I are still living in the 20th century.
. . .that's how I watch it, and no apparent issues with the streaming thus far. We got it free thru our cable company (Comcast) until the end of this month, then we'll pay the fee ($2.99 mo. W/ military discount). If you have a SmartTV, Roku, or AppleTV you can download the app on the TV. You may be able to get a free 7 day trial. Peacock is NBCs streaming network. I'm not sure what happened, but I signed up for Peacock with my email (no CC) for a free account a couple of years ago, and I've been able to stream sports for free, watch their library, and the only annoyance is ads. I'm not sure how they managed to mess that up, I've found it to be a pleasant experience!. . .that's how I watch it, and no apparent issues with the streaming thus far. I'd be curious to see how the various luck parameters or whatever could have altered any of our losses to-date:
L 71-64 vs. #4 Marquette
L 86-79 at #17 Tennessee
L 83-78 at #1 Purdue (no TSJ)
L 76-67 vs. Maryland (no TSJ)
L 96-91 in OT at Northwestern
If layups going in and out count, then some BASIC finishing carries us home vs. both Maryland and Northwestern, we are 16-3 (7-1) and our only losses are three exceptionally tough Quad 1 games (two of which were away from home).
We need more Dain! It’s ridiculous
Two heady plays there. Griffey' quick release, and BP having the nads to hold for the right play. His pass and connection to the cutting Griffey is underappreciated in my book,.I remember the discussions at the time. There was a desire to get the ball out of his hands ASAP due to the little time remaining. Was worried that a dunk would have run out the clock with him still touching the ball. Really intelligent play, I admired the thinking almost as much as the shot!
It looks like the walk-ons are doing their job. All three of them plus DGL and Moretti.
