To carry over from the closed thread. Responsible journalism has taken a back seat to clicks for some time. Kept referring to how many attorneys he talked to. Ok buy I assume some of those experts would have told him one of the requests was for a TRO but was actually ordered was open ended injunctive relief. A monumental difference. Better get some better sources. Then this poorly veiled shot illinois immediately reinstated him. I guess being found in contempt of a federal court order is a better option. I suppose my biggest gripe is his grandiose climax where he says nothing has changed since the original suspension. So a federal court order saying his constitutional rights were infringed is nothing. Seems I read somewhere the constitution was important. I expected some fallout at away venues but many people are getting their facts from bologna like this. Sad

I saw somewhere that Trilly Donovan mentioned Coach is unhappy in Champaign. Not sure the extent of this unhappiness or cause of it, but wondering if "insiders" have any insight into this? Trilly is usually pretty plugged in, but could be agent noise to get client a raise I suppose

Agreed. And I was about to reply to @Illini in Italy when the previous thread closed. It is representative of America now. Ignorant people filled with hate have been given a voice by the social media(s) and elected officals. I'll stop there.

Here's what I can say ...

Trilly does talk to a lot of people who are plugged in nationally, regionally, AAU-wise, agent wise ... He's got a LOT of elite sources ... Brad being unhappy is probably what someone told him because of what I will get into below:

Is Brad unhappy ... No ... Would Brad entertain other CBB jobs? Yes ... He has almost every year ...

I was told last week and @illini0440 can confirm this ... Brad's agent was floating his name out there for the Louisville job amongst other jobs he would take versus would not ...

Personally - and I think I can speak for @illini0440 as well and maybe some others feel the same way but I don't think Brad has another rebuild in him ...

Outside of a blue blood or K State ... I really don't see how any program is an upgrade over ours ... You want a raise every year? Done ... You want a new practice facility? Done ... You want your son as an Assistant? Done ... You want more NIL? Done ...

Everything Brad asks for ... Josh finds a way to get the job done and if he can't ... He sits Brad down 1 on 1 and explains why and will do everything in his power to get him the next best thing ...

Brad knows finding that anywhere else is going to be nearly impossible if not impossible ...

My goodness, the amount of information you provide is off the charts. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and opinions. It all makes sense to me and proabably to anybody else here that has dedicated there lives to a particular career. There's a point after many years that changing jobs/locations to improve or assure more earnings is no longer a necessary reason (although there's nothing wrong with that). If Brad leaves, I will be disappointed, but I will be happy for him and hope for the next guy to achieve his goal. I understood Kruger's reason and I understood Self's reason. I think Brad could accomplish the same thing at Illinois as he could at any other school in the country right now. If he's happy with his day-to-day he certainly has the funds, the facilities, the fan base, he has it here. But, if he wants to try something else or go home, okay. I know coaching is a lot different than what many of us did for 40 years or so, but there has to be some similarities. I just enjoy the hell out of watching him coach and listening to him talk.

GREEN: Games we should win by double digits

ORANGE: Games we will need to win to maintain in the B1G title race

RED: B1G Champions

Indiana
Michigan
@Penn State
Iowa
Minnesota
@Iowa

Short & sweet… we need to go 6-0 in these games

@ Northwestern
@ Ohio State
Nebraska
@ Maryland

3-1 in these games likely keeps us in the hunt
4-0 & we are favorites/playing for a share of the conference
@ Michigan State
@ Wisconsin
Purdue

1-2 might not get it done
2-1 we are likely champs/shared champs
3-0 B1G champions

Embarrassed to admit but I used to listen to these guys' podcast. Haven't bothered with this episode but I can tell all I need to know. This is exactly the depth of analysis I would expect from Parrish. All he talks about is rankings, quadrants, hot takes, and nonsense. Doesn't actually understand a thing about basketball; I bet he couldn't tell a man from a zone defense and I'm sure he wouldn't bother reading more than half a page of court documents. Norlander isn't much better.

I wouldn't put any stock in their opinions but sadly others will.

Nowhere in his article does he mention that TSJ has never been in trouble before or that the case against him is sketchy at best.
Just cheaply fueling the fire. I L L . . .
Gary Parrish is a terrible journalist. He is being disgustingly dishonest in his articles and videos about Shannon. I suppose that’s just the way things are these days as it is his job to get clicks and views but I can’t respect it. Plus I would forgive all of that if he wasn’t so terrifying looking…

And, IF Brad leaves..... we still feel really good that we can bring in an equal or upgrade, right? Sean Miller still open to leaving X?

If we make a run in the tourney, I would hope Brad and UI are aware enough to see that no change is needed or necessary.
