The coaches tweaked his mechanics on his release and shot.

They brought in a new shooting system (Noah system) that facially recognizes the players and calculates the depth and shooting angle of each shot so he has elevated his release angle and his accuracy is getting better.

He is shooting 1,500 shots a day while the Noah system captures the ball’s position 30 times per second to provide metrics such as the arc of each shot, the ball’s left-right position and depth within the hoop, release time, position on the court, makes and misses, and shot type — such as a catch and shoot versus off the dribble.

Ah yes....you are right. BTW, best player I ever coached against in intramurals was Larry Lubin. He was literally a one man press. Had to use a couple of guys to bring up the ball against his team. And a phenomenal football player as well.

Kylan - 15PPG, Ben - 15PPG, Riley - 10PPG, KJ - 10PPG, Tomislav - 8PPG, Morez - 8PPG, Ty - 8 PPG, Tre - 8PPG, Booth - 5PPG, DGL - 5PPG

This would make it about 90PPG as a team so probably not a very realistic scenario...but this is probably outlines the best case scoring wise...

The other thing about IU is I just don’t know how the pieces fit together. Ballo and Reneau will both clog the paint and Ballo is a horrible ft shooter. I really like the 2 guards they brought in but both are no taller than 6’3 and were around 30% from 3 last year. Am I crazy if I would rather have Kylan/KJ?

I think with our youth and lack of continuity we will stub our toe just enough times to come up short but I expect us to compete for the BIG championship. We’ve got size, shooting and playmaking all over the court. There may be teams as talented as us but no one more talented.

I think there's a lot of variability when it comes to winning the B1G regular season with the conference as big as it is now. The more teams that have been added, the less equal in opponent strength each team's schedule is. For example we have to play Northwestern twice ever year and they've recently gotten pretty good at defending home court.

All that being said, I think we have the talent to do it but even if we don't I think winning the B1G tournament next year is very realistic.

Just out of curiosity how does the summer work for players? How many times per week are they allowed to practice? How much are the coaches involved? I ask because I seem to recall the coaches’ access to players during summer was somewhat limited in the past.

Perhaps I am remembering that incorrectly. Thanks in advance.

I like our talent, but our youth gives me pause. Hopefully, the young guys get old quickly.

I've seen this mentioned a few times and I just think it's important to clarify that Ben missed 11 games last season. His team played in 35 games. He played 24. He was injured off and on. That's part of the reason he didn't make any all-conference teams. We saw with TSJ what missing 6 games can do (yes, some chose not to vote for him because of his situation, but missing games hurts). Compare his stats to a lot of guys selected and he's right there.

Now, I'm not saying he will be the next Marcus. Inarguably, Marcus had a way better pedigree. Still, he has several intriguing tools plus a ton of size and, unlike at Evansville, he doesn't have to be the guy. Teams can't specifically gear their entire scout to stop him. While, yes, there's a jump in level, that should help him.

Ultimately, we don't need him to be the star. Frankly, I don't think Brad is penciling him in there. We just need him to be mature, hit shots, and make good decisions. He's the steady hand. We have other guys with the potential to be stars.

I can’t tell you and am not sure if there are limitations, but I do know the coaches are over-seeing the scrimmages and they are keeping all stats of every scrimmage.

If you watch it, you’ll hear Brad saying in the beginning of the recent video that he believes that these scrimmages are what made Illinois so great last season.

They said recently that this upcoming week was their goal but it depends on university admissions.

Tomislav is going to be great. He barely has to jump to slam the dunk and will be intimidating for wings to go to the rim.

This will be a fun year.
