An old experienced team that's accustomed to playing together like Butler, especially if this is in Indy, are going to beat us like a rented mule. Let's have our kids see what that looks like and see where they really are, then we come home and have a couple weeks of practice with that taste in their mouths.
I am nitpicking here but for some reason this piqued my interest, why “especially if this is in Indy”? It’s not like there will be any Butler fans there or not many (and I am guessing that they don’t want any). It will be held in an empty gym with maybe a smattering of spectators.

What are the chances we actually see Tomi cleared before our first game against EIU?
Said months ago that I did not think that would happen. Just my gut along with many other factors. No one knows what the PTB at the NCAA Clearinghouse have going through their heads. I certainly hope and pray Tomi will play and play well for several years for the Illini as he is needed and indicators point to a good fit. But I will also not be surprised if he never makes a box score.

We are very young, and there will be some bumps along the way for sure. We knew that, but we also know the supreme talent on this roster
Could not agree more. Rather than dumping a jigsaw puzzle on the table and going to work, BU must go through the castle to find the pieces first and move them to the room where he will try to fit them together. The process will take longer, but Illini Nation will eagerly be looking over his shoulder every game. May be the most interesting seasons ever....but not necessarily the most comfortable.

That starting 5 looks absolutely wild to me: a junior transfer with a chip on his shoulder, a fifth year guy, and three talented freshman. Worst case scenario? They look lost out there and can't figure out how to play together. Best case scenario? They demonstrate immediate chemistry and significantly raise the floor for expectations going into this season. Can't wait to see what happens.
Don't we all....but we won't. Just verbal reports and conjecture.

There is a big scoring drop off when this bench enters. Do you start Ty, and bring in Riley with DGL?
Well, I think we see DGL have some scoring outbursts this year. Also, we don’t have to bring in 3 backups at once. And even if we do, we can leave a Riley or Kylan in with backups to handle the rock and be first option while KJ rests.

What if told you that Tre and DGL have been 2 of the best scorers on the team in practice …

DGL has had the best fall of anyone on the team … Tre most consistent of anyone on the team …

Ty doesn’t need to score to affect the game … We all know this …

We haven’t had a team like this before …

I don’t disagree, but I will root for some former Illini more than others. Coleman, Goode and even Lieb have a much bigger place in my heart than guys who stayed one year or less.
Said it before, I'll say it again. You all are better people than me.

Guy quits on the team mid-season but uses every loophole he has to get money for nothing (and chicks for free). Announces his departure the minute we lose in the tournament. We honor every dollar, of course he will steer his friends our way, who wouldn't recommend that kind of company to work for?

He’s talking about for tomorrow …

Brad wants to see what he’s got in these new kids …

He knows what he’s got with all 3 guys coming off the bench in that list … Especially Ty … Brad trusts Ty on a Trent/DMFW type level …
One would sort of hope that the coach would use a pre-season game that way.
Its what the pros do and why shouldn't he think the same way.
Explain it to the team, let everyone know what the objective of the game is, then go work toward that.
Its not the February lineup question and shouldn't be thought of that way

Still comfortable environs for one team and not for the other team. Crowd noise is only one part of home court advantage.

If we've unlocked the talent Tre White has he's gonna be a real problem for the Big Ten. Certified bucket getter, just needs to find the right efficiency to his game.

Who has a scouting report on what we should expect from this 24-25 Butler team?

Are we thinking total domination. I mean realistically?

May have bought a KSU shirt the day Coleman committed to them. He gave us four great years. He's on my "cheer forever" list
January 25. West Virginia vs KSU. Illini party in Manhattan?

Was hoping this game would be at WVU as I have alumni friends in Pittsburgh and that’s an easier drive.

Just plugged all of the game times into my calendar, and it's awesome that the team is getting some respect with the major network broadcasts. Most of the weekday home games are in the 8 pm BTN timeslot, which is great from the point of view of us being seen as the prime time game for the evening, but not great for me personally because that puts me back in Bloomington about 11:30 pm after the game. I'll probably survive that first world problem. :)
Is there an easy way to do that, or did you add each game manually?

So I’m preparing for the worst …

And it’s 10000000000% on the NCAA …

Same. When has a delay this long ever gone in Illinois favor? It seems like any time they start looking closely, they're looking for ways to shut a player out.

Does anyone even know what the standard is? The whole thing has always confused me. It seemed obvious that playing professionally overseas was a deal breaker, but you can somehow structure things to maintain eligibility. Is there anything written out there how this to work?

They’re old … Well coached … Griffin Moore’s little brother is on the team … They’ve got a couple transfers and Pierre Brooks … Lost Posh Alexander and I think that’s a huge loss … They got a kid on the re-class that seems to be pretty talented but he’s young …

But they aren’t going to be a tournament team …

I think they’re a bottom 2 or 3 Big East team … But that’s just me …
