If I’m reading this correctly, Ben H. gained another year of eligibility from the NCAA ruling due to his time in the NAIA.

If I know this board, expect unanimous positivity and excitement over this unexpected eligibility windfall.

Slightly OT, but for a school with at least a DECENT all-time "brand" or whatever, why does it always seem like Maryland plays a disproportionately embarrassing non-conference schedule? Lol. Schools like Illinois, Purdue, MSU, Ohio State, etc. seem to have no problem setting up entertaining and challenging non-conference games almost every year. Even when we were bad several years ago, we scored multi-year series vs. the likes of Gonzaga and Arizona. Every year when I see Maryland looking "good" around this time of year, I take a peak at their schedule, and it's a joke compared to other "basketball schools."
Yeah, I concur. That fandom, in particular seems to think they’re a pretty awesome program. I’m not sure reality would necessarily agree.

They’d have to rate exceedingly high on the: Legends-in-their-own-mind(s) Scale IMO. It seems like they’re heavily leaning on and living off the residuals of Gary Williams best years. Very damn good coach…and underrated as hell. But that was over 12 years ago.

not surprising on KJ, but Ivicic belongs on his list (and Nojus isn't technically a euro, as he grew up in Lemont):
FIBA system has Nojus as a Euro because he represented Lithuania, he and KJ were both the leaders of that team. So maybe that's why. Also, this guy on twitter is a Lithuanian if I'm not mistaken, so there might be some bias there :ROFLMAO:

I’m actually fine and excited for it. He needs a full offseason with our development team because he’s got the ability to knock down shots. His agility and strength are lacking for this level.
I agree. I don't think his current shooting woes will last forever, and I think he'll eventually be able to help in the ways the staff imagined when they brought him in. And if not he'll probably play elsewhere next season anyway.

You just described Indiana, to a T. They STILL live off the Bobby Knight success. They went to ONE final four since Knight was tossed out. ONE. Yet, they still think they are royalty. Stupid Clown Pants U.

Frankly, while I find those fan bases insufferable … our fans are too far the other way. We have the third most conference wins in the country, have hung a Big Ten banner in 3 of the last 4 years and we are coming off of an Elite Eight. Our fans should have a LITTLE more swagger!!

That comes from all the historical times of getting burned with high expectations that didn't pan out.

We have a better history all-time than Maryland, and we have a much better recent history. I think our fans just have an unjustified, subconscious desire to adopt a “Woe is us!” attitude whenever remotely possible. 🤣

Compared to the vast majority of programs, we are SO lucky as fans.

So we're up to 4 real coaches and 13 kids in hoodies that coach during timeouts. Our players sit under the basket. Pretty cool.
