Especially if it’s the pull up elbow jumper.
I'd be over the moon ecstatic if he would just go right back up with those offensive rebounds he gets within 3 feet of the bucket instead of not even looking at the rim. Either score, get fouled or both.
It would also be nice if he made his free throws after being fouled.

vs Missouri: Lots of anxiety
I think he's a role player but he has every tool to become a good defender(size, strength, explosiveness).
He isn't a great shooter and his release is kind of low but I think he's a good enough shooter to knock down open 3's and he's so explosive downhill you can't really closeout hard on him.
Plus he's always a threat in transition. I'm not saying he's going to be a superstar but there is definitely a role for him in the NBA.
From a friend of mine who watched Ty workout for 45 minutes last week in Chicago.
“Super tight handle, really shifty, can shoot the middie and his 3 looks so much better. Nice release and rotation on his shot. He’s ready !”

How would anybody know if his 3 looks better? We've never seen one.
We all like shiny new toys and Brad and his staff have done well bringing them in the last few years, BUT:
From another source I spoke to at length last week who is a former ILLINI great and remains very close to the program but who is also a tough evaluator:
"No one worked harder than Ty over the last year in the gym. He could easily have left and did not come back to the ILLINI not to play a meaningful role. He was sorely missed as an EDG on last year's team that needed his toughness on defense and his rebounding. Brad is thrilled to have him back."

Maybe he meant better than the threes from the rest of the team?
I'll take just the highlighted. If he can hit 8-15 foot jumpers in addition to everything else he does well, he'll be an important piece. This team really needs a Lucas Johnson/Sergio McLean type.
That is what I said earlier. A guy to do the dirty work and to get in the head of his opponent.
I would feel a lot more confident if your friend was John Calipari. But thanks for the input as this is what most of us are hoping to see. But, having moved from Illinois to Missouri, now ya gotta show me!
Yeah my bud is also a tough evaluator honestly I wasn’t expecting such a rosy response. Can’t wait to see it!

obviously, game performance is a different animal. but we know he's worked like a demon on his weaknesses. really hoping it's apparent, for his sake and the team's. could be our "secret" weapon
Let's wait until the season actually starts before we sing Ty's praises. I heard the same song and dance last year before he redshirted.
