Basketball threads have been extremely boring. Can we get an #insider perspective on Morez posting practice clips of himself working Big T? Is this a Kipper Nichols practice situation? Will Big T respond?

True. I just loved hearing that from a very strong critic. Gio pounds guys that suck. He was really pleased with what he saw.

Idk what Ty is or isn't going to be next season on the court but Kasparas calling him the captain of the team even though he was redshirting speaks volumes to what he means to the team next year.
He’s a great guy. Let’s hope that translates to b-ball performance. I’ve loved everything about his game besides shooting until this point.

Yes to both the above posters.

Zero question about Ty's heart or the effort he has put in, or the leadership qualities he shows. But legitimate questions regarding his shooting that can only be answered in game play and results.
The ILLINI have no shortage of players who will be more than happy to take the shots this season. I am cautiously optimistic that Ty's shot will be improved, but even if it is not a dramatic improvement, I'll still take the player who was Top Ten in offensive rebounding in the Big Ten and third on his team in rebounding playing out of position as a starting guard on an Elite 8 team. Last year's team sorely missed a "Dennis Rodman" type player who would mix it up on both end's of the court and get his team extra possessions while tossing in a couple of put-backs on pure hustle. Ty could play that role, minus the dresses, hair color and drama, of course.

Can't wait for the Michigan matchups.

And I'll already saying.... people can shove it with the "he's just a kid" non-sense. You put that out there, you better expect some heat.

As many reps as they get against each other there were bound to be some good ones. Doesn't really mean a whole lot out of context.
I’ve always heard countless reports of practice player all Americans.

That being said, Morez is good. I think he’s been slandered and praised to the point of apathy for me. Let’s see how many 3s he makes next year before we finally come to conclusions.

He certainly can be the fuel to a huge fire for this team. Ty is a truly great athlete, basketball player and leader. No one wants to be the catalyst for this team more than he does. We all want him to be "the guy" and I hope he knows every one of us is a supporter and hold him in great admiration for his effort and selflessness.

One fact of which I am certain, if a guy wants to make a 12-25 foot jumper...he has to shoot one. If I were BU, for all the early season games, I would put him in the starting lineup every night as long as he shot 3 jumpers in every game.

Question....Ty is listed at 6'6" and so was the Reverend. Are both legit?
Both pretty strong on the boards....and I am not sure who I would choose for that job. Roger, of course, was a more dependable shooter with a green light for open 3s.

Posting practice highlights is crazy. He can join Kipper Nichols on our all time practice team squad 🤣

there's nothing to be all so enamored about practice highlights, but morez will do great things at michigan and was a great get for them. as quick and lively this board is to the sour grapes, he'll play a lot, and likely starting with Yaxel 4/5.

illinois and michigan probably 2 and 3 in the eyes of most media people.

Why is Morez's dad posting those clips now? Like, what's the point?

Because Yaxel left the draft and a lot of people are clowning on Morez because he got the money but won't get the minutes/role he wanted. This isn't just about us, this is him doing some sick audition on behalf of his son to Michigan's coaching staff to not give him the same (potentially worse) role.

Note- if you look at the timeline, Morez commits, then Yaxel commits, then Aday Mara commits. That's not great news for Morez, because it tells me May and staff told the latter two players "Don't worry about Morez, he's depth." If we go through the exercise of assigning minutes, I don't see Morez exceeding 25 MPG (barring injuries).

We need to debate an all time practice player lineup. On the contrary, an all time bad practice player line up. Samba Kane is my first pick for the bad team
