It's a highlight video of the other guy scoring. Any of you familiar with highlight videos?

"look at the timeline, Morez commits, then Yaxel commits, then Aday Mara commits. "

Brutal. You can make a case that he's no worse off at Michigan, but if his complaint was about minutes, there were much better landing spots. I think either IL or UM he's 3rd option. The good news is that if he never develops he'll still make very good $ as a college player.

I believe that was his family's primary intention. In the current environment, can't blame them, or any other player with at best a G- or Euro league ceiling who follows this path. Would have been nice to see what Morez could have done with us. Loved his presence last season and was sad to see him go.

These days, however, I do a Jeremy Clarkson and quickly move on.

I don't think anyone is saying nepotism doesn't run rampant in college basketball or really just sports in general.

However, comparing Kruger to TU is a little unfair to Kruger. Kruger was an all conference player and played professionally. That's a strong enough resume as a player where he could have broken into coaching on his own.

Also, I kind of doubt Otz took him as a nepo hire. They coached against each other in the Big12(assistants at ISU and Oklahoma). Sure, Kruger had the connection to UNLV because he played there and his dad coached there but I doubt he was forced on Otz.

I don't think Tyler would be getting the nepotism criticism if he had been an all conference level player and played professionally before being hired as an assistant.
So because a person wasn’t a good player there had to be reasons he was hired to coach.? There is no correlation between a successful playing career and a successful coaching career. The criticism of TU is unwarranted and over the top. But fans will be fans. And when their expectations are not met it’s somebody’s fault.

Didn't Kruger get the Atlanta job after Izzo recommended him? Not that I think Kruger would have been here for a long haul since he liked to move around. I think we would have gotten him for 3 more years??

I see you've only been with us (in your present incarnation at least) for a couple months.

Welcome. You'll learn quickly that rationality often not only goes unrecognized here but is punished harshly by the Colosseum crowd.

Lol..I found the same thing..overpaid but oh well
Not a ton of great seats unless you want to spend $900. Wondering if more of the upper deck ($91) seats open up during the "venue presale." Right now it's mostly on the end line.

Wasn't that impressed with mara when we played him last year. He is very tall. He could be a problem this year but I chose to ignore that possibility because it displeases me
Look Michigan is gonna be good. Probably number two in the conference.

I’d rather they be good and Morez be unhappy because he can’t earn minutes then they be good because Morez is a beast. Usually I’m happy to root for former Illini, but Morez is enemy #1 in my book

Unfortunately I agree. I don't really see a way they aren't good unless they are devastated by injuries or they just shoot atrociously from 3.

Lendeborg is a pretty special player and I think he will translate very well to the Big10. Morez and Mara round out the interior and should be pretty potent even if neither is a shooter. Then even Tschetter is solid depth as a 4th big.

I'm not a big fan of Cadeau(I think Donaldson was better) but they return a couple of solid veteran guards in Burnett and Gayle plus Mckenny is a top 20ish incoming freshman. Cason also looked ok towards the end of last year. Wouldn't surprise me if Cadeau is the worst of the bunch.

Don't forget Oscar Goodman. They are stacked at the 4 and 5.

Username definitely does check out.

Tell me are they better than last year... Maybe. Yaxel alone may do that. But allow myself to introduce myself to the possibility they are the same team. A loaded front court and a suspect back court that can't shoot.... Just saying

Another possible hot take.... Purdue may have an elite offense and bad defense.... Just like last year. Better offense sure but better defense I don't see. Wishful thinking probably but worth considering

So how many Michigan players are there who can shoot this year?

Overall I think Michigan upgraded the backcourt - bring back both Burnett and Gayle... lose Donaldson, but bring in both Cadeau and McKinney.

Fontcourt's as good as anyone.

You actually believe that?

So if we looked at Hall of Fame coaches they'd be split about even between good players and bench warmers and walkons?
