Yeah, the 28 minute cap is pretty silly.
C'mon guys, have some degree of reading comprehension.

The 28 minutes thing was for the purpose of arguing against the contention that playing guys 30 minutes, which the original post said "is a lot" would mean Davis/Lee/Wagler have to play more than 30 mpg combined. Kind of a whole "look I did it with less than 30 and still got to a different result," thing. Clearly there will be guys that play more than 30 minutes but if I did that then the response would have been that we can't necessarily rely on that.

idk man, at least everyone here seemed very defensive of the fouls that went against him. and as he progresses it should only get better.

I've always seen Morez as a pound for pound stronger version of the Reese kid at maryland.
Morez has much more of a "nastiness" (for lack of a better term) to his game, especially the rebounding. That's not to say Reese is a bad rebounder.....Morez is just in the top 1%ile when it comes to rebounding. I've always thought Oscar Tshiebwe as his ceiling (especially if he stays 3 or 4 years).

My reading comprehension is just fine. Against top noncon opponents and in the majority of B1G games, those 3 will not be looked at to play 30 minutes among them.

Sure seems like Underwood prefers size over speed & quickness.

#illini coach Brad Underwood said two Europeans are still making their way over. Heard some positive things but taking the process day by day.

Ty Rodgers had knee surgery and has started the rehab process. Underwood did not specify a timeline to return.

I know Petrovic is one of the Europeans still on the way but who is the second? Mirkovic? I thought I read that Mirkovic arrived a couple of weeks ago. Evidently that was not the case.,

Maybe Mirkovic is here but technically not awarded NCAA eligibility yet? Or maybe it was just a visit? It is strange because he was added to the official roster website along with the pics that have been posted.

That was the beginning of the end for Bruce. Should have moved on from him after the car crash, instead had him sit out a year. All that did was delay getting his replacement by another year and leave the team short handed. One year suspensions never worked out for us (Darius Paul, Larry Boyd).

There is not much that I would less want to do than watch scum practice.

He is forgotten and underrated. Before things went sideways for him personally, he was on track to be the best jump shooter we have ever had.
Not to go down a rabbit hole, but would anyone care to chart out what his hypothetical career at Illinois might have been without the accident? I know it’s fruitless but he was just such a pure shooter. What if exercised can sometimes be fun.

Michigan is going to be tough if they shoot in games likes they shoot in practice.

We would be unstoppable if that happened last year. It didn't. I expect Michigan to have some losses because people pack it in on them and they can't hit an outside shot

Yep.

But the good news they sure aren’t very disciplined; as of yet. That might be the sloppiest 3 on 2 drill I ever saw. 😂

Probably a dumb question and maybe even more so just wishful thinking, but ... is there any way for Ty to come back this season and not play enough to use up his eligibility? Or is the very act of him choosing to play of his own accord a sort of automatic "trigger" that his eligibility is used no matter when he would return? I guess I have only ever seen a situation where a player STARTS the season playing and an injury ends his season early and not the other way around. If he had knee surgery in July, February would be 7 months and not necessarily inconceivable for him to be healed, right?

(I have obviously made peace Ty not playing at all this season or maybe even again for our squad given this unfortunate turn of events, I am mostly just curious.)

Ty’s done for the year …

Plan is to get a medical redshirt and be ready for next year …
