Not a fan of the "one and done" implications on Keaton by Brad. Freshmen basketball players have enough pressure on them adjusting to the pace of the game at the NCAA level, academics, etc. Why not just say something like this? "We're really happy about what we see from him so far. We're looking forward to seeing what he'll accomplish on the court this season." No need to heap on unnecessary additional pressure.

Eh if it helps get nba scouts to attend more of our games, its a win for the program.

Pressure makes diamonds, my friend. Brad knows.

I would think by now fans that follow the program are used to the preseason hype. YMMV, but the article seems measured by offseason standards.
"We want to be careful, because he hasn't played a game yet. We just had two one-and-dones a year ago, and I didn't think they'd be one-and-done, and we put them on a stage, and they achieved at a very high level," Underwood said. "But Keaton's in that class."

For sure he'll get some minutes in the early going, and that seems like a good problem to have whether or not it continues into the conference slate. Hard to imagine he doesn't have something special in terms of potential given that his teammates are talking him up. Won't be long before we'll know where he's at.

Isn't hyperbole the main reason for pre season articles...I also don't think he signed with BU to be in a safe no pressure zone...good grief...

But just what if he ain’t lying? It seems like they’re so excited about him… it’s just hard to keep it down sometimes.

Something to monitor for those of you with YouTube TV and only sign up for Peacock for Illini games. Not sure if everything has been clarified just yet, but would be great to know the details by the time of IL's first Peacock game Nov 7.

Reading through article sounds like it might be part of a premium package on YouTubeTV so would still have to pay extra 😒
