We’ve played very well. All things considered, my unbiased record prediction for this year would still be 24-7. Which is a great season (seriously, if you’re mad about that I’m not sure what to tell you).

My question is would that lend a 2seed or a 3seed. I’d imagine (hope) it should be above the 4 line.

31-3 or bust!

As opposed to the west side, AKA the Meanest Flock of Geese In North America Drive
For those who have never heard the story, the West Circle Drive at State Farm Center is named after John Penicook, a truly great ILLINI raised on the farms of central Illinois whose amazing wife Mary Ellen and their 4 fantastic/fanatic ILLINI children made a memorial donation a decade ago in honor of John after he lost a short and brutal but heroic battle with brain cancer. A terrific husband, father and friend who is missed by all who knew him. Spoiler alert: John and Mary Ellen met on the roof of Assembly Hall one summer evening while students at Illinois and the rest is ILLINI history!

Family donation will mean renaming of drive at State Farm ...

Taking a step back from just Illinois, has anybody noticed how crazy bad the bottom part of the conference is this year? Last year every team had a win by now, and teams were fighting for 7 conference wins to hopefully make the Big Ten Tournament (now everybody makes it). We might have like 6 teams that don't attain 7 conference wins this year.

Ouch, that word “bust” in light of the injury to Boswell’s hand. Yikes.

Not sure if this is the spot to leave it, but I thought y’all might enjoy reminiscing over one of the program greats.
From a Scottish perspective (re: the title — other than his untimely death, there’s not much “tragic” about this story… 🤷🏻‍♂️):

This is JMO, and this may be a very limited viewpoint, but that Nebraska game is THE GAME for me (of course Michigan later on might be as well).

They beat us at home, and it’s time to get that one back. I think we match up well with them, and just have to clean up some technical things from the home game.

Obviously losing Boswell throws a wrench into things, but I truly think it’s on our bigs to play better than they did the first time.

To me that’s just such a “circle on the calendar” game. What’s interesting is that they play @Michigan right before hosting us, so just maybe there could be some emotional layoff who knows.

In all honesty, I still feel good about our offense against their D. We carved them up in the first matchup, even despite missing some 1 and 1s.

I hope we’ll have no shortage of scout on Sandfort this time.

Would be a good time for Ty to return. Defensively and leadership would be welcome. Haven’t heard anything recently but thought this was projected to be his return at one time.

People toss around “best case scenario” without understanding what that means. Best case scenario is we go undefeated and win the national championship. Perhaps a couple of losses (or more) is a probable or even realistic scenario, but calling anything less than undefeated the best case scenario is loser talk.

Great story, thank you for sharing. But that's a little like saying, other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?
