Where are our MDs to tell us how bad this is?
Echoing what ‘hooray-beer’ said

I had an emergency appendectomy in college. You can’t lift anything above 10-15 lbs for a week or two.

So assuming he was missing that time for his foot regardless, the biggest thing will be conditioning. Still thinking hes back a game or two before UConn.

Realistically, it doesn't change much. It's 2-3 weeks to return to "normal" activities. His foot is probably along that same timeframe. The staff won't have to worry about him staying off his foot.
Good to hear, but will there be a concern about conditioning if he has to lie in bed for two or three weeks? Will he have to lie in bed for two or three weeks? I mean, he probably hasn't been as active with the foot injury, but he was still doing some conditioning while recovering; will even that continue now while healing from the appendectomy? In the Kyle Tausk tweet, BU said "further delaying his return", which seems to imply beyond the timetable for his return from the foot injury.

I'm guessing bed rest and total relaxation is probably a few days. Then, he can be up and around, but nothing stressful(lifting the things up, nothing to put stress on the area). Day to day activities doesn't take very long to get back to. Again, just nothing rigorous.

Conditioning is going to take a while. Heck, do we even know if he's out of the boot yet? If this didn't occur would he still have been on the scooter? If that's the case, the whole situation is moot. The two injuries align from a time standpoint.

I'm not sure if anyone has any info with where he is with regards to walking without the boot?

I’m not worried about us playing our best ball come Jan/Feb when we have our full team at full conditioning.

I just hope we don’t have enough setbacks that we can’t build a top 3 seed resume even with us playing well in early 2027.

It’s not impossible for lower seeds to make the championship game, but the path is definitely easier if your a top seed.

Yeah winning a national championship takes more than skill to win for an individual year. Over the course of a few decades the most skilled teams will have it all align and win a championship, hopefully more than once. Each individual season requires a lot of things to go your way. Its why you you have the have the talent every single year So off to a pretty poor start. Really need that tech game.

This is one strange team medical history the last couple years. Appendix, tonsils, blood colts, ribs removed, and then your standard broken bone or two. Docs and Fletch earning their pay. You would think with all that, the injury Gods should give us a pass for a couple years.

If I'm not mistaken, Tomi had mono a couple of years ago, too.

There are details that we (or maybe just I) don't know. There were some posters who questioned appendiceal rupture. But, rupture does not necessarily change his prognosis and recovery time. The two main factors, in my opinion, that would significantly affect his recovery are associated surgical approach (laparoscopic vs open) and associated sepsis/bacteremia that requires an extended admission & IV antibiotics. In the worst case scenario, he required an emergent open appendectomy and will need several days of IV antibiotics before transitioning to ~2 weeks of PO antibiotics, in which case his recovery will probably be minimum ~4-6 weeks. The best case scenario is laparoscopic appendectomy (without any other confounding factors) performed through three small incisions, the largest of which is only ~1 cm, in which case he returns to normal activities in ~2-4 weeks depending upon surgeon recommendations.
