We’ll have to wait another week to know how this team will really look without Mirk and Jake.

That being said you really couldn’t have asked for a better showing.

I see the vision on defense but against a good offensive team I fear we’re going to get into some pretty bad situations. Honestly I think as the year progresses, we’ll be scaling back the aggression on both sides. Which isn’t a bad thing, I just don’t know if we can fly around like that against good competition.

We’re going to win a ton of games if we continue to paint beautiful offensive masterpieces… 🎨

Do we know Jake’s injury? Is it a dislocation? If it is, hopefully he can be back sometime soon. I dislocated my left shoulder playing college baseball and was back within a week, but I understand that my case is an outlier. Just looking through my orange and blue glasses and being optimistic.

It's more than likely a dislocated shoulder; my guess is a month. Jake will want to return; he played on an ankle that most people wouldn't have come close to playing on.

I dislocated mine scrimmaging when I stopped my head bashing against a wall with my arm on a fast break. Went into the locker room and a guy popped it back in. Threw it out for good when I went back out for a jump shot. Had to wear a sling for 4 weeks or so. It took another 2 weeks to strengthen it. Can't come back to soon because the muscles and tendons around it have to heal enough to give it the support it needs. I'm right handed and it was my left shoulder. Hurt like a mother.

wow the pace last night was crazy good.

Sad for Davis but as the freshman progress he is likely the most replaceable.

Random overly negative post toward ole Glenn here, but my mother indoctrinated me to hate when people misuse “myself.” It has a specific use, it isn’t just a formal version of “I” or “me.” 🤣
It's not like he is in a career that requires command of the English language, like journa... oh.

If Jake is separated shoulder I'd think he is back by early/mid December. Plenty of time. We just need everyone right in time to be full go when it counts in March.
Precisely. Look who wouldn't want a win against a top 5 Duke and/or UConn. But they're also in a way freebie games. You won't get overly penalized for losing them. I actually think Texas Tech and Missoure are the most important non-con games. 2 Ws there keep us in the top 10-15 range where a fully healthy Mirk and Jake by Jan paired with a soft start to the B1G season give us an opportunity to win the B1G outright. That almost guarantees us a 1 seed or the best 2 seed vs. the weakest 1.

Texas Tech is the game I'm circling. We'll really see how deep this team is.

I know FDU is chopped liver but from the display I saw last night this team fully healthy is gonna be there at the end in March/April. Then it comes down to matchups, luck & playing good when the chips are down. This is 89 or 05 level stuff potentially in the making. Just got to kick the freaking door down this time.

Darn it. One of those where you knew it the second it happened.

This team just got a lot younger, both in literal age and also the general vibe of the 5's we're going to have out there.

It all may wind up being a benefit in the end, but we were counting on less change in who we are and what we do than this when we conceived of this roster and this season. For better or worse this is not last year's Purdue at all.
