This is not expected to be season ending, but I think he’s out until sometime in mid February.

Gonna need the freshman to step up in the meantime, will be good for their long term growth.

Some good news, David Mirkovic foot has progressed very well the last week.
While I agree that this will be good for long term growth, this was the year for us to utilize our returnees’ experience and then lean on the young/talented depth to run teams out of the gym. Not necessarily grow them for the future.

With how many moves that happen each year, “long term growth” is hard to wrangle. Who will even be here next year? Unless of course long term means “later in the season” then yeah, I agree it’s a benefit but hopefully not at the expense of a worse tourney resume.

Either way, this sucks but let’s hope for the best for Jake and that he can play again this year!

Gonna be a glass half full kind of guy here, this sucks but with Lincoln Williams at least back and Mirk making strides to being back, plus with how our freshman have played and will continue to grow… I’m optimistic the season can still be elite.

I hope Jake Davis can be involved while sidelined and be a Ty Rogers sort of mentor and vet to keep the chemistry high until he can return. Good news for me is that the injury isn’t like an ACL tear, or on his left arm, so when he does come back he can have comfort while shooting and not feel hesitant.

Praying there are more Jake Davis Corner 3’s in SFC

Guessing it involved an ac joint with distal fracture of the clavicle, and potentially or even likely something more or worse.

Better than it happening in December….

Injury bug infestation!!

Do we anticipate Mirk to be back for UCONN?

Jake, along with Tomi, Mirk, and Andrej were part of one of the most efficient 5 man lineups in the country last year. Jake, being the most efficient offensive player in the country last year, was a big part of that.

It's a big loss and kind of undercuts one of the main preseason reasons to believe this team is a national title contender - That RTB being that we were returning 80% of an insanely efficient, Final Four lineup.

Fortunately, our freshman are awesome and I think we can overcome it. But the implication is bigger than just figuring out how to replace his 5ppg from last year.

I hate this, man. I want to look at glass half full stuff. But I can’t help think this was the year we had the best chance at hanging that elusive banner, with all the experience we retained and the group of newcomers. I’d trade so mainly mediocre years for just one championship 😢

I will be most happy when we win the NC having overcome all the adversity. :hailtotheorange:

Perhaps a late season Kyle Schwarber 2016 type return is in the cards for Jake Davis to help get us over the hump to win the title. In 2016 Schwarber went down the first week of the season with an ACL & busted his !!! all year in rehab. Because he busted !!! he was able to play the World Series & frankly they would not have won it without his timely hitting among other things.

No doubt Jake will bust his !!! on the rehab front & if he is ready to go by say February we just added a fresh body for the stretch run who can inject leadership, depth & max effort at a time when the season is heading for home.

It sucks today but might just be a bump in the road come April. Got plenty of time to adjust & accommodate now vs having this happen in January. Not ideal but it won't put a dagger in the heart of the season to borrow a phrase from a former interim AD.
