They're the best of the standard set, but we don't seem to play well in them for whatever reason. I wouldn't risk it in March.
(If they go all out and beat say, UCONN, in them, I'll forever keep my mouth shut about them though.)

I feel the same way about the blues as I feel about haunted houses. I don't believe in ghosts, but I also don't need to take any unnecessary risks in case I'm wrong.

I think I might like these more than the orange.I would have to believe we go throwback from here on out. My prediction is we roll with the Script when possible (it won us the BTT, after all!) and only wear the Flyin' Illini jerseys if we are the lower seeded team and the other team elects to wear white. So, if we keep winning, I predict the first time we see anything other than the Script jerseys is the Sweet Sixteen. And if any higher seeded team than us elects to wear their color jerseys, we will opt for the Script.
There is of course the dream scenario that we bust out these first game...

Since I don’t think my idea of six uniforms (script and Flying Illini in white, navy, and orange) will ever fly, this is what I’d do assuming we have a five uniform set like we have right now.

Orange 1989
Orange 2005 (one year only)
Navy 1989 template but with “Illinois” on the front
White 1989
I’m assuming that Nike will want some sort of “modern”/new uniform, so that can be an orange uniform to replace the 2005 throwback after next year.
I’d save any modern uniform looks in orange and navy and keep the whites for script and 1989 templates.

I feel like this team has this perception that our throwbacks are "big game" jerseys that shouldn't be used too often. And I hate it, lol. When your regulars are awful and your throwbacks are elite, just wear the throwbacks!

Wouldn’t shock me to see the Cyclones wear their golds. They often to that for their important games, particularly at Hilton Coliseum. If they do that, we almost have to go script whites.

Im assuming they go white being the higher seed, thinking we gotta go ‘89, however juju wise I think we go regular oranges.

The regular jerseys have "better records" precisely because this team often opts to wear them in "less important games" that we are more likely to win anyway. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. We wore them in our first BTT game and then switched to the Scripts for the semifinal and championship. Similarly, we switched back to regular whites to play a #14 and #11 seed, and I will be shocked if we don't bust out the Scripts for Iowa State if they were gold. The Scripts have had JUST as much "good juju" lately as the regular whites!!
If they go white, it'll be Flyin' Illini, IMO. I don't care what superstition might be out there, I hope we never see the regulars again. We are playing on a huge stage, and we should wear one of our two elite jerseys, IMO.

I believe they just get to pick? However, I always think back to our 2005 team that preferred to wear orange every game and often only wore whites if they other team's away jerseys were (e.g., Wisconsin or Arizona). I do think the higher seed (or home team) just gets to pick whatever they want and the other team can't pick that exact same color, though.
Personally, I hope they wear gold and we go Flyin' Illini. I always like the double-color uniform combos (which we seem to do against Iowa quite a bit).
