Lol, obviously there are exceptions ... we suffered our Loyola loss in the white Script throwbacks, and we beat Iowa State to go to the Elite Eight last year in our regular orange uniforms. However, my point is that we wore the Script or Flyin' Illini uniforms often enough in these past five years that I think I will look back fondly enough on this era without having any sentimentality for the uniforms at all.

That uniform has always seemed to me like the Dollar Store knockoff of the 04-05 jersey. It’s kind of the same, but the quality (both the jersey and the team’s play) was just not quite as good.
Another Nike school-Xavier got throwbacks to the same era teams as 04-05. Why couldn’t we get them for the 20 year anniversary Nike?!
I'm not really sure why Nike keeps taking the heat here? Maybe I'm way off.. but isn't our uniform situation on josh and brad and maybe some other school officials? Do they not hold the keys to making changes?? Or do they just sit around and wait for Nike to think about Illinois and spit out a new product and then nod their head accordingly no matter what the product looks like..

You’ve got to pick and choose y’all. As far as I know, Illinois currently has 5 uniforms (they never wear one of them, but that’s beside the point). 3 unique designs.
Can anyone name a team that has 6? Or more than 3 styles? Because that’s what I see people complaining about not having. Illinois has more than many many top level programs out there.

There’s no universe where Xavier is more prized by Nike, lol. And that leads me to agree with the suggestion that the DIA is the one dropping the ball, which is mind boggling given how much effort and creativity has been devoted to football uniforms.
I distinct lily remember Ayo telling people aka Brad that our uniforms were trash and switched them after this freshman year. I feel like we need another player to push the agenda because the DIA isn’t.
Does Xavier have 2 other throwbacks like we do?

“Having 5 different uniforms” doesn’t have any inherent value, though. As far as I’m concerned, Xavier has 3 legitimate uniforms, and we have but 2.
But that's very unlikely Nike's perspective, which is why it's not indicative of Nike caring more about Xavier than us. And key to your complaint is that unlike introducing a throwback, you want to completely redesign the primary jersey (which I support!), and that would require a lot more effort and also require Nike and its distributors to eat losses on whatever jerseys and apparel they still have with the 1LL1NO1S font. It's an apples and oranges comparison is my point.

I’m starting to believe that Nike more or less has a setup where they take requests or they effectively assume you don’t care and give you a default template, lol. If we approached them and said that we’d like them to replicate our Flyin’ Illini uniforms in our other two colors and have those be our standards, why would they object? They’d objectively improve jersey sales by doing practically nothing.
