This made my day, an Illjni for life. For all the NIL stuff, great to see our players leaving with degrees

No Emerald this year.4 mega games + Emerald? + Gavitt games?
Let’s hope we’re ready
No Gavitt games eitherNo Emerald this year.
Oh good, another fun pro-fan thing destroyed by conference imperialism. No Gavitt games either
Great to see players graduatinggood job, Dain:
hope he kills it at Memphis
I totally agree with your overall point, but I never really cared much for the Gavitt Games. It's losing the Big Ten/ACC Challenge that was really sad for me.Oh good, another fun pro-fan thing destroyed by conference imperialism.
EDIT: Just a sample of interesting matchups!I totally agree with your overall point, but I never really cared much for the Gavitt Games. It's losing the Big Ten/ACC Challenge that was really sad for me.
Kind of surprised we have not set something up with the Big XII ... a lot of natural matchups, and both leagues are in with FOX.
I think there are multiple interesting matchups for each school as well.EDIT: Just a sample of interesting matchups!
Illinois vs. Kansas - Self connection
Indiana vs. Houston - Sampson connection
Iowa vs. Iowa State - Natural rivalry, already play
UCLA vs. Arizona - Former Pac-12 rivals
Nebraska vs. Colorado - Former football rivals for Black Friday
Ohio State vs. Cincinnati - Instate dynamic
Oregon vs. Utah - A lot of great football battles in the Pac-12
Penn State vs. West Virginia - Border war of sorts in the making?
True that. Using just Illinois...I think there are multiple interesting matchups for each school as well.
Surprisingly seems more appealing than b10-acc
The next logical step is the determination that the players are employees and not students, so therefore do not have to attend class or graduate. On top of that, the five to play four requirement will go out the window and we will have people with 10 year "college" careers. And that, boys and girls, will suck.Great to see players graduating
How does the NCAA measure academic performance of a school now that a player can transfer multiple times
It seems like all our players are decent students while being good basketball players. BU deserves credit for that
Actually, I thought it was very kewl.... LOL... loved it....That stole looks so tiny on Dain.
Graduated from MSU and fell in love with the MVC while I was there. Sad to see what it’s becoming and I hate this move…Missouri st leaving MVC wow
imagine if he knew what he was doing
I … am open to this? Spice up the grind of Big Ten play with a tough neutral site test. Hopefully a weekend then!!
I agree. Assuming that the team is hitting it's stride by then, it presents a good opportunity for a Quad 1 win in the middle of the B1G stretch.I … am open to this? Spice up the grind of Big Ten play with a tough neutral site test. Hopefully a weekend then!!
Name checks out. There is a such thing as over scheduling. When bringing in an entirely new roster, not sure this is great. I know he wants to establish the "we'll play anyone at anytime" mentality, but maybe this wasn't the year to stack the schedule. This is one of those, just find a win somewhere and don't lose them all, scenarios.

Every year is the year to stack the schedule with Q1 opportunities. Every. Year. There is a such thing as over scheduling. When bringing in an entirely new roster, not sure this is great. I actually like this as we will both be in the tune up phase for the tourney by then. Should know who we are at that point. Seem to recall a similar non-con time frame with Georgia tech in 89 - right in middle of conference play.
In the late 1980's there were several years in a row were we played a high quality non-conference game during the Big Ten season. Perhaps the league office during that period left a spot in the schedule for every team to schedule a non-conference game? We played Georgia Tech twice, Houston, Arizona, and maybe others.I actually like this as we will both be in the tune up phase for the tourney by then. Should know who we are at that point.
