I guess a lot of people tailgate but don't go to the game. I don't understand it because when I come down, I want to see a football game. I can drink beer anywhere.

Booked tickets to watch Illinois @ USF! The next day I get to drive back up and watch my Noles play Miami, that will be a heck of a football weekend featuring two night games.

I'd go into the game more if I found them more entertaining. I can either sit in lot 31 with 30+ fun people and drink, cook, play bags and beersby, etc. or go into the game and watch us bounce balls off the uprights and lose to Purdue. For the last several years the product in the parking lot has been better than the one in the stadium, imo.

We're two months away from football season. Can we have some Lovie Effect?

I really enjoyed reading this. Thank you for posting this story.

The amount of talent at Trinity Catholic in the 2019 and 2020 classes is staggering. They look like they could be one of the best teams in the Midwest over the next coupe of seasons.

Agreed. Fantastic read and I hope Larry can convince some of these guys to come to Illinois

Are we down to 75 scholarship players now? The recruiting class for 2018 is heading towards 20+.

Well, good luck to them both. Too bad it didn't work out.

RB Tre Nation, WR MJ McGriff have left the #Illini football program. Both signed with Bill Cubit in 2016.

Neither of those make sense to me unless there was a conflict between them and the coaches. McGriff would have gotten targets this year or next, Tre Nation would have gotten a slight increase in carries this year and been able to compete to be RB #2 his junior season. I guess maybe they want to take a step down in competition level to be "the guy" at their position? Both are budding quality players in my opinion.

I think Nation was buried at the bottom of the depth chart for RB. Probably had a discussion with the coaches and they let him know opportunities were going to be few and far between.

We have Foster, Corbin, Dre, Epstein, Bonner and just took another RB commit.

Wish both of them all the best!

If the Illini make a bowl this year, it will be a major, major accomplishment, given the shortage of upper classmen and the difficulty of the schedule. When USF and WKU were put on the schedule, they were both cream puffs. Now, each school is anticipating the best season in program history this fall.

Buzzard's luck.
