No reason the can't get 15K in there with plenty of room for social distancing.
yea . I would think we would be allowed 25%~35% by then . Biden just said he expects vaccinations to be real close to “100%” by end of summer

I don’t think you will be seeing any outdoor concerts for awhile tho , as those gen admission venues are tough to enforce distancing

So a typical Illinois football weekend...

I kid, I kid. I’ve had season tickets for 15 years (10 with kids), and while I agree there have been some poopy moments, I think football weekends are some of my favorite memories.

Fans are really missing out by not attending.

As to the actual question, I think fans will be in the stands. I also agree somewhere from 25-50% would make sense.

What do you guys think are the chances of having some amount of fans in the stands this fall? Or will we get a blanket no fans policy from the BIG again?
That's an interesting question. I wonder if they'd require proof of vaccination, proof of negative testing within 48 hours, limit seating, or some combination. Either way, I hope things are much improved by late June and we have a better idea by then. For now, I'm interested to find out how our team looks this spring. I think the team responds well to the changes on offense and defense and we see major improvement.

To me, any fall Saturday you spend on the couch, is a Saturday you’re wasting. There’s just no substitute for attending a college football game.

They are just memories you can’t replicate, especially when the weather’s nice.

This Week 0 game could be a special memory.

In latter years I have been going primarily to experience the Marching Illini.

Joe Milton , scUM’s starting QB at the start of last season , is transferring out

Harbaugh will be on his EIGHTH qb in 7 years this coming fall

Ive heard from both Michigan fans and national pundits that the fact Harbaugh hasn’t been able create stability in his QB room (and have consistent multi-year starters) has been and will be his downfall.

Maybe they are just grasping at anything to explain their lack of success, but it is an interesting stat.

there is definitely something weird going on up there. They certainly have what seems like an unusually high number of transfers out at many positions, of what many people would say were fairly highly rated players at one time . Sure , it happens to some extent at all the big programs , but Harbaugh's issues with the QB position is not "normal"

Can he turn it around up there ? maybe. but its not likely at this point. the more you read about him the more you realize he's a jerk. I think his buyout is the only thing that saved his job this past December. Its got to be frustrating for the fans, but no, I dont feel sorry for them. Most Michigan sports fans have been spoiled and think they are entitled to a winning record in everything.

Especially curious given that was Harbaugh's playing position.

With us whipping them last season, at their place, with our former coaching staff, Nebraska has to be worried about playing us again next season, as they have to be assuming we will be improved under the new coaching staff. It's a nice feeling.
It's a tad early to be talking about other teams being worried about playing Illinois.

Only if you insert logic into it. But really, we're in a good position to get into Nebraska's head. They are shaky under Frost, and our coaching staff has some real cred. Pulling in some quality 2022 recruits before Fall will just add to the collective Husker nation angst about the game.

I don't think 2022 recruits will have any bearing on the game.

I'd be more worried about the governor banning fans than the conference.
There's probably truth to that, and I don't think that's a bad thing. Just disappointing if it comes to that. I am always in favor of over precaution when it comes to this.

I'm just hopeful for the day when we don't even need to worry about it.

its Pritzker, not the league , that will be setting the seating capacity numbers

and the sad things is, I'm starting to think that its going to be a LONG LONG time until we can stop worrying about Covid.

It's nice to pretend though. Especially now, in the dead of winter, when you have zero idea of what we will actually look like. I think it's better to be overly optimistic at this point in time as opposed to being overly down on the team. Stay positive and let them earn any negative feedback. This is the way.

Different states have different rules. Illinois could have one set of guidelines and Wisconsin a different set. So yes, not the league.
