True. I also have seen, quite often, that an athlete who excels at a sport may have little teaching or coaching talents for that sport.
Me teaching math. Unfortunately figuring this out 16 years into the profession....
The best coaches I’ve had were middle of the pack players - not super talented. I think there is something to be said about natural talent creating a disconnect between your average joe.
