As someone who lives in the west coast, I love waking up and watching Illini football at 9am. But that start time (11am central) is a killer to game day atmosphere. I know this is not unique to Illinois, but when you combine bad football with early start times, it’s hard to get motivated to get up and have a breakfast tailgate.

I think we need a better game day experience to compete with the at home and bar experience. It isn't a problem unique to Illinois, a lot teams are dealing with it so there should be plenty of ideas out there.

I'm not sure what the solution looks like, however. In stadium bar? Restaurant? More in game gimmicks?
The solution is simple, put a competitive, reasonably successful team on the field consistently and the people will come. No more 63-0, 0-0 games. I personally am very excited about this year. could be 10-2, could be 2-10 with a competitive team each week.

I'd be enthralled with a 0-0 game............against Ohio St, Michigan or USC. (However, I don't believe the NCAA is allowing such outcomes any more.)

I finally had to the time to watch Isaiah Williams at the Big10 media day. He specifically mentions his youth brother and teammate who transfered to Alabama and is now in the NFL. I personally hope he gets 60 catches and 1k yards this year. We should enjoy the growth and courage of a young man. who believed he could be a Qb1 and chose us! Courage to switch positions, and I hope he continues to be a leader and All Big10! Let's enjoy IW, while we can. Thank you you man! 💯
