I have reasonable expectations, but hope the team outperforms.

I feel like people rightfully pointed out that we were a "lucky" team in some respects this year (the Rutgers win being a glaring example, lol), but it's worth noting how UNLUCKY we seemed to be in so many games in some previous seasons. If past teams had the luck of last year's team, 2021 would have been 7-5 or better, 2022 could have been 10-2 or 11-1, 2023 at LEAST would have made a bowl, etc. So it sort of balanced out last year, and I am hoping this year's team is just rock solid consistent. Might we lose to OSU? Sure. However, I am hoping and cautiously optimistic that we come out and play our game competently every week, with hopefully no exceptions ... and I think doing that gets us a really nice record!

I think at some point you have to recognize the coach for having their players ready to go in clutch scenarios. Luck is part of it, but it's also a direct result of coaching.

There's a point where Scott Frost's Nebraska teams losing all those one score games stopped being just bad luck.

Can we give Barry and Bret some huge props for how much they've turned our QB room around(including Art's rise)?

Just an absolute overhaul.
Next season we might even have a home grown QB starter, our first since Isiah Williams in 2020 and our first season opening starter since Chayce Crouch in 2017. Wild times!

Agree the coaching staff had them physically and more importantly mentally prepared to come back and win close games. Toward the end of last season, games against Purdue, Rutgers and South Carolina, even though we were down to them late, it felt like we have a decent chance to come back and win. This is mainly due to the attitude and confidence the coaches instilled in the players. Hope this mentally continues this season and onward.

if TeRah gets another year that would be massive

here's a guy who was more of a ho hum transfer (in my eyes, anyway), has put in a stuff ton of work and developed into a damn good DL. really good story there

the type of player Iowa and Wisconsin utilized to establish and maintain consistent success.

Barry Alvarez part of Hayden Fry’s initial staff, spent eight seasons there. Ferentz spent nine seasons on Fry’s staff before eventually following as Fry as HC.
Bret, of course, played for Fry, then became a full time position coach for both Fry, then Ferentz; after a stint with Fry disciple Bill Snyder at KSU, then up to MadTown for Alvarez.

Type of player, type of football, continuity.

( Different tree, but some resemblance also to Belichick knack for finding players to develop into valuable pieces)
