Can we give Barry and Bret some huge props for how much they've turned our QB room around(including Art's rise)?

Just an absolute overhaul.
I’ve been wondering about this lately, does anyone have any news on how Petty and Boyd have looked? Does it look like we have a qb of the future in house already?

Our dude just knows how to run a program. Period.
🏆:illinois::alma-mater:❤️

And this in comparison. A true Renaissance man. Simultaneous big-time best neighborhood dad and trolling bad a$$. (All-time mad props to Jessica Smetana and @TentakilRex for this in-game post):

my most favorite Illini play of all time

Mr Hawthorne, your table is ready
"It's the little things in sports that inspire the big things." Amen. The ensuing game-reversing goal-line stand proved it.

For me this is second only to Thomas Rooks' game-winning TD run v OSU in '83. Watching that final drive again: goose bumps. I listened to it on the radio that day. Couldn't believe my ears. Merely a month after I visited campus for the first time and fell in love with it.

I was there with seven of my friends sitting on the 35 yard line in the west balcony it was a unbelievable experience

Never thought Trudeau could take them 80 yards with only ~ 2 mins left. Thought at best they might get a FG to tie, In fact, he left OSU a full minute. Still remember where I was: in our kitchen on a beautiful Midwestern fall afternoon.

I was at that game sitting in those aluminum bleachers in the NEZ. It was great yelling smack at those hairless nuts as they left the field. One of my all time fave games to be at.

My wife and I were sitting in the east balcony, first row, 24 yard line. The play was right in front of us. Never forget it.

The next day in describing the game, the beat writer for the St Louis Post Dispatch said that 45 minutes after the end of the game, he estimated 40,000 people still in the stadium.

"They didn't want to go home"

Our crew was in the South End Zone/Horseshoe bleachers! I thought they were going to collapse since everyone was jumping up and down so hard. Great memories…

Bret is clicking on all cylinders. Recruiting is on an upswing, the onfield product is on an upswing and he seems to have the off the field pr down pat.

Heck even when he acted kind of prickish in the bowl game for a bit the fan base is still lock step behind him. Time will tell where he takes this program but he appears primed to take us to places we haven’t been for a long long time.

Loved this hire from day 1 cause I thought he was a program builder kind of guy and just a solid coach. I’m beginning to suspect he is gonna exceed what I thought he could be.

I mean even in the moment without knowing the real story, I feel like the ESPN commentators acted like Bret just walked up and assaulted Beamer. Even just seeing it live on TV I was like, seriously!? That's it!?

What, did you even know what that was all about? I presume you’re talking about the T signal. The NCAA codified that sign because they knew the stunt SC had pulled was wrong. Without Bret’s reaction that wouldn’t have happened.

Incidentally, we were on a cruise later in January, and there happened to be an SC alum on the ship and he made a comment to me about, to use your word, prickish behavior. Not surprisingly, he was surprised to learn what really happened. And when he returned to South Carolina, you can be sure that he was explaining it to his fellow Gamecock fans. Alas, the world will believe the incorrect story because there’s not enough of me to spread the word anout the truth..

Wife and I were sitting in the East Main on the 15 yard line, 26 rows up. Rooks around right end just in front of us. I start yelling "GO! GO!" Then "SCORE!" "SCORE!" Then "OH MY GOD!!!" "OH MY GOD!!!" "OH MY GOD!!!" as he scores. PANDAMONIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You had to be there to truly appreciate it. Best Illini experience of my life.

And to think some people on this board wanted to cancel the Mizzou series

To be fair, the Mizzou series does hurt our ability to make the CFP in the current setup. Nebraska and Tennessee recently canceled their home and home deal. Hopefully they change the CFP soon so teams aren't afraid to schedule good non con games.

I was one of those people. I never would’ve dreamed Bret would get it cooking like this. And this fast. More than impressed and more than excited.
Drinkwitz quoted as saying the upcoming season will be his best misery roster ever................
