Six of these big ten teams alone have over/unders fewer than ours with one tied with us and another team only one game over us (who found lightning in a bottle by playing all sucky B1G teams last year). And then we play WMU and Western, plus Duke’s over/under is 6.5. This really doesn’t compute.
I want to believe we’ve turned the corner under Bret and no other coach since Mike White has truly got me this excited. But we were three plays away from being 7-5 last year. It was the rare season where most of the breaks went our way. It’s not unrealistic to believe next year could bend back toward the norm.
I see where you’re coming from but the only runaway game last year was against Oregon, who beat tOSU in the regular season and finished 3rd. The Penn State game was closer than it looked and they finished 5th. And we only lost to Minnesota by 8. So not everything broke our way, but we were finally in a position to win all but one of our games. That’s way ahead of where we were 5 years ago.

It's essentially an exhibition game so it's OK with me.
I am not a huge fan of the Friday games either, but at least we are looking at a guaranteed evening start. Daytime games in late August/early September have the potential of being heat fests. Much easier to bring my 2-year old to a later game during this time of year.
They get roped into it because Bret wants it.

Exactly this. If it doesn't get moved to Friday night, there's a 2-in-3 chance it ends up in scorching heat on Saturday.
