Shame! That's the emotion I've been feeling this weekend after my attendance guess for Western Illinois was heavy by 2,173!

Okay, I'm partially kidding, but I still need to be better. (Also, Derrick Burson, if you read this, I owe you an edible arrangement for calling out your attendance predication last week...)
I've mentioned before that my approach to tracking/projecting has evolved over the seasons I've done this. I no longer manually count green dots - these days I inspect the network request data behind the webpage itself which includes data like capacity, ticket availability, and seat status. Paciolan, the ticketing vendor, also rolled out a new platform and user interface this year which required some additional adjustments. Clearly, my approach and methodology needs some further refinement.
What stinks - actually its a
great problem to have - is with 4 or 5 expected sellouts, I'm only going to have a couple opportunities to log an attendance guess. My average is probably already shot! Oh well, with the expected sellouts, the
Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch will do exactly what its name suggests: it will be watching sellouts develop before our eyes.
Updates below: USC is close to a sellout. Just a few hundred seats remaining. Rutgers and Maryland are also in strong positions to be within the realm of sellouts several weeks from now.
Once USC sells out, my updates will be probably less frequent until we get closer to the Rutgers game.
