Current PFF pass blocking ratings & P4 rankings of the Illinois offensive line*:

LT - JC Davis (82.4) - 13th out of 167
LG - Josh Gesky (73.0) - 67th out of 176
C - Josh Kreutz (41.8) - 78th out of 79
RG - Brandon Henderson (65.9) - 112th out of 176
RT - Melvin Priestly (69.0) - 67th out of 167

I set the minimum qualified snaps at 20% of season total average, meaning that qualifiers needed to play 144 or more snaps.
Outside of JC, yikes. Thankfully Luke has been mostly illusive after those first few games. Any other QB and it could’ve been a long season.

Three things to mention:
- Kreutz is effectively dead last at center because the 79th guy is at LSU and has been really good at center but they tried moving him to LT and it was a disaster.
- Zylon Crisler is having his best performing season at Colorado this season. He's the 56th ranked guard.
- Kevin Wigenton has been bad at Virginia (to the point where it looks like he's been benched). He's the 158th ranked guard.

So, is Kreutz injured or just that bad? Is he still starting due to 1) staff loyalty, 2) other positive aspects of his game or, 3) we have no overall better option at this point?

He seems to have really good chemistry with Luke and has tons of knowledge/experience in the system. Younger guys on the roster may have more potential, but with growing pains

We don’t have an upgrade over him on the roster. Also pff grades don’t know the players assignment so it’s pretty hard for them to give an accurate grade

Does pff include difficulty of schedule?

What do you think our chances are to secure the Joe Moore Award?

As I previously stated, we need a really good center from the portal !

Gotta wait until this weekend to find out Wisconsin game time/tv

For anyone going down the rabbit hole of guessing, these are the Big Ten games that weekend:

#19 USC at #9 Oregon
Michigan State at #20 Iowa
Rutgers at #1 Ohio State
Nebraska at Penn State
#21 Michigan at Maryland
Illinois at Wisconsin
#23 Washington at UCLA
Minnesota at Northwestern

The USC/Oregon and Washington/UCLA games CANNOT be at 11:00 am CST, period ... so that eliminates them from 11:00 am on FOX and also 11:00 am on BTN/FS1. Notre Dame is also at 2:30 pm on NBC, so the standard 6:30 pm on NBC spot is open. Also, every team in the conference has to play on BTN twice per year. Every single team has met this requirement (counting future games that have been announced) except for Penn State, FWIW.

So again, this involves a LOT of speculation, but a reminder that FOX gets 8 first pick weekends and CBS / NBC get 3 each. The only actually, 100% confirmed known dates (to my knowledge) are that NBC used one of its first picks on Oregon/PSU, and FOX used two on Texas/OSU and OSU/Michigan. Nichole Auerbach also told me that NBC wanted the Illini/OSU game and FOX picked it ahead of them, so FOX at least had second pick on that weekend. If anyone wants to try to play that game ... here you go, haha.

WEEK ONE
1. FOX picked Texas at Ohio State

2/3?? - CBS picked Nevada at Penn State
2/3?? - NBC picked New Mexico at Michigan

WEEK TWO
?? - FOX picked Iowa at Iowa State
?? - CBS picked Oklahoma State at Oregon
?? - NBC picked Boston College at Michigan State

WEEK THREE
?? - FOX picked Oregon at Northwestern
?? - CBS picked USC at Purdue
?? - NBC used one of its three "pivot" picks to choose Texas A&M at Notre Dame for the night spot

WEEK FOUR
1/2? - CBS picked Michigan at Nebraska ... this was announced way ahead of time, so probably a desired pick??

?? - FOX elected to choose Texas Tech at Utah from the Big XII
?? - NBC picked Illinois at Indiana

WEEK FIVE
1. NBC picked Oregon at Penn State

2/3? - FOX picked USC at Illinois
2/3? - CBS picked Ohio State at Washington

WEEK SIX
?? - FOX picked Wisconsin at Michigan
?? - CBS picked Penn State at UCLA
?? - NBC picked Minnesota at Ohio State

WEEK SEVEN
1/2? - FOX picked Ohio State at Illinois

2/3? - CBS picked Indiana at Oregon
2/3? - NBC picked Michigan at USC

WEEK EIGHT
?? - FOX picked Washington at Michigan
?? - CBS picked Ohio State at Wisconsin
?? - NBC used one of its three "pivot" picks to choose USC at Notre Dame for the night spot

WEEK NINE
?? - FOX picked UCLA at Indiana
?? - CBS picked Minnesota at Iowa
?? - NBC picked Michigan at Michigan State

WEEK TEN
?? - FOX picked Penn State at Ohio State
?? - CBS picked Indiana at Maryland
?? - NBC picked USC at Nebraska

WEEK ELEVEN
2/3? - FOX picked Indiana at Penn State and did NOT bring the BNK show there, so guessing not their first pick!

1/2? - CBS picked Oregon at Iowa
1/2? - NBC used one of its three "pivot" picks to choose Navy at Notre Dame for the night spot

WEEK TWELVE
?? - FOX picked Michigan vs. Northwestern at Wrigley Field
?? - CBS picked Penn State at Michigan State
?? - NBC picked UCLA at Ohio State

WEEK THIRTEEN - Week in Question
?? - FOX pick not public
?? - CBS pick not public
?? - CBS pick not public

WEEK FOURTEEN
1. FOX picked Ohio State at Michigan

?? - CBS
?? - NBC

One other note is that articles indicate that FOX (which normally gets the first three picks) traded its third overall pick to NBC after choosing OSU/Michigan and OSU/Texas at #1 and #2, and I'm pretty sure NBC used that third overall pick on Oregon/PSU ... so FOX's remaining first pick weekends would theoretically be for slightly less enticing weekends than we'd think?

I don't know ... it's all super hard to predict for me, haha.

The actual fans that attend the games are the least important people in the world. All that matters is TV.
True in terms of their share of program revenue. However fans in seats are a vital part of the media production and team motivation. Think of them as part of the cast. Ticket revenue may not be important, but media revenue requires fans in the stadium. Try selling this!
