Apparently the Montana Griz faithful feel they too have issues with the defense...

Still.

#1 reason is lack of talent
#2 reason is Bielema

BB is a don't give up the big play, make the O play without making mistakes and drive the field. Cooper mentioned the reduction in big plays given up vs. MSU, and they won. It's only going to get worse regarding teams moving down the field on the Illinois D, for better or worse.

If Illinois gets a strong proven DC next year that can "semi" take charge over BB, it will get better. Short of that, it's continuing on with what we've seen since Walters left.

I keep flashing back to the Duke game and watching the 11th player running off the field, offsides, while we stopped them, giving Duke an extra play which, in my mind was the difference between winning and losing that game. Between that and losing to a Purdue team we should beat 4 out of 5 times I can’t help but think this is a season that should have been. On what is generally an outstanding coaching staff, the DC decision is particularly inexplicable.
