Second round has flipped, at least what is showing, illinois currently 1 off the lead and having a very good second round. Jackson needs to bear down in round 3 or this will hurt his PGA U status.

Illinois appears to be 5 back of Memphis heading into tomorrow and they are both miles ahead of the field. Scores are crazy high so I looked up the rating and slope and colonial is insanely difficult. 77.2 course rating and a slope of 148 that is higher rating than Oakmont.

I looked into the course, it was the home of the Memphis Open (later St Jude Classic) from 1958 to 1988. Past champions include Nicklaus, Trevino, Player, Floyd, and Al Geiberger (famously shot a 59 on the par 72 course, still a record as a -13 round). Definitely some history on this course.

Illini holding onto a 6 stroke lead with a few to play, hopefully they can close it out. Ethan putting together a great round, -3 on the day and now in the top 10! Max and Ryan are currently tied for 3rd. Tennessee is not competing as a team but send three golfers to play as individuals - one of them is tied for the lead.

Quick turnaround: Boys will be playing at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational this weekend. Overall field isn't as strong as Pauma Valley, but still features three higher-ranked teams: Texas, Oklahoma State and North Carolina. Should be a good test, and it's pretty cool to be in Augusta in April!

Tied for 2nd with ETS and UNC, 3 behind Texas. Working our way up! Herendeen T1! And Furman just joined the T2 crowd, lol.

Bit of a letdown here at the end.... Herendeen killing it at -6, everyone else Par or worse... Still only 4 shots out. Regroup tomorrow!

First round complete, tied for 5th at -3, four strokes behind #1 Texas. Max at -6 is tied for the lead with OSU's Preston Stout, but the next best Illini is Jackson at even par. Round 2 starts soon.

Now this is how you start a a tourney. Massively impressive display thru two rounds in a very good field. This would be the marquee win we have wanted this year. fingers crossed they can hold the lead. Max is playing outstanding.
