Campbell shot a 69 today the PGA Championship, meaning he will play the weekend. Congrats to Brian for making the cut in the first two majors!

Detry had more work to do and couldn't recover, finishing with a +4.

Quite a finish for Scottie Scheffler, who crushed the "Green Mile" - the final three holes at Quail Hollow that decimated most of the field - and won by five strokes. In the end, Brian ended in a tie for 55th and pocketed about $30K.

Next major is the U.S. Open at Oakmont, which handed out 30+ exemptions today. Detry is in thanks to being with the top 60 in the world rankings. Campbell is also in, as he was 4th in the Fedex Cup standings among those not already qualified. Congrats to both!

The rest of the Illini will attempt to qualify on June 2nd via the 36-hole final qualifying rounds (the "longest day in golf"). Buchanan, Birdwell and Meyer advanced through local qualifying. Also the top 500 in the world are exempt into final qualifying - that includes ADC, Hardy and Pieters. Additionally, the NCAA Champion will get an automatic bid assuming they remain an amateur (Max tied for second last year at La Costa, just sayin...)

Brian Campbell even after 14 holes at the Charles Schwab Challenge. Nick Hardy waiting to tee off.

Can't remember the last time Nick got coverage on TV, great to see him in the mix. Might be tough to catch Griffin and Schmid at -13 but you never know!

He hasn't had a great year so far...this will be a great boost...!

Hardy fought to -6 tied 11th and $203,775...thats going to be a boost to his campaign this year...

ADC and Luke played the same group for the first two rounds in Raleigh, and both are in good shape heading into the weekend! ADC looking to continue his push back to the Tour, and Luke hopefully coming to life after a rough stretch - he had an early top 5 but has struggled to make the cut since.

One note: The Korn Ferry Tour changed it's qualification standards this year; it now only gives a Tour card to the top 20 in the final points list. The top 75 retain a full exemption in the KFT.

ADC finished with a top ten (T8), moving to 38th in the points list. Next up is the BMW Charity Pro-Am, where he famously began his professional career with a win - ADC and Guthrie will both be in the field. Also this is one of the few KFT events that will be televised (Golf Channel)

Detry finished T39 at the Memorial, pocketed $81K despite shooting all four rounds over par! Detry and Hardy are both in the field at next week's Canadian Open.

Also today is the 36-hole final qualifying for the U.S. Open. Five former and current Illini are participating in the "longest day in golf":

Springfield, OH: Max Herendeen, Nick Hardy, Dylan Meyer
Columbus, OH: Jake Birdwell
Atlanta, GA: Jackson Buchanan

Jackson fired a 63 in his opening round today as he looks to return to the U.S. Open, this time as a pro.

Follow the scores here. Golf Channel will also provide coverage starting at 3pm CT.

It's official - Jackson's first event as a professional will be the U.S. Open at Oakmont CC! Jackson shot a pair of 63's to claim co-medalist honors with 17-year-old Mason Howell:

No other Illini qualified today; Max, Nick and Dylan all shot under par in Springfield but fell a couple strokes short. Jake struggled against a stacked field at Columbus, finishing +4.

Jackson will join Thomas Detry and Brian Campbell at the U.S. Open, June 12-15.

If I'm reading those cards correctly # 10 must be a par five so he had a birdie and an albatross today, 4 under on that hole!

Solid opening round for ADC as he returns to the event he won two years ago, currently 1 back of the leader. Guthrie off to a solid start as well.

Detry in decent shape at -4 at the Canadian Open as well.
