When is the last time we've had 3 different former Illini score 30+ pts in the same NBA season? KJ also had 20+... Podz too if you really want to count him.

And the Minnesota stuff is so cool. Actually getting me a little interested in the NBA for the first time since Duncan was still in the league.
I mean, when’s the last time we’ve had three former Illini in the NBA??? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Watching TJ cook an NBA All-Star for an And-1 inside of 2 minutes in a close elimination playoff game

Not taking anything away from TSJ but Murray is absolutely terrible at defense. The T'Wolves were basically targeting him with TSJ or McDaniels (whoever he was guarding) every possession.

He is targeted due to his size. He fits in the average to below average bucket but not “absolutely terrible” by any stretch.

Shannon is such a force athletically. He’s really one of a kind even in the NBA where teams play off of him and he still can get by his man and finish.

I don’t know if TWolves can afford this but next year:

Ayo
Edwards
Shannon
McDaniels
Gobert

That would be such a fun team to watch.
I’d trade Randle for picks and pay Ayo. To me Randle is the guy that doesn’t fit. He’s paid like a superstar but really is just an undersized PF.

He's a freak. I'm not sure I can point to another Illini I'd put above him in terms of athleticism. Been too long since the flyin Illini days --maybe in that group?

Really impressive the range of teams BU has had. Guys with great transition games, and then this past group that played methodically with historic efficiency.

TSJ needs to get on another team. His coach called timeout on 4 fast breaks in last 5 minutes that TSJ had the ball and was going to score.

It's actually much more recently than most would think. Ayo, Malcolm, and Meyers all played in the 2023 NBA, although M&M combined for 14 games played.
The good news is there are more than 3 Illini in the league right now! Ayo, TJ, KJ & Will makes 4. 4 1/2 if you count Podz I guess.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about Ayo and TJ…they’re two of the hardest working guys you'll ever see. Ayo always talks about getting better, and he’s made great improvements in his shooting, 3s, quickness, defense, etc. He’s never satisfied.

Same thing with TJ…dude just never quits. In video with A Rod (TWs part owner) he mentions TJ is in gym every day at 6:30am, and last summer he hit 18,000 threes!!

So proud of both! Great representatives for UI.

Timberwolves have great chance to save money to sign Ayo. Trade Randle and don't resign Vincenzo. Move TSJ into 8 man rotationView attachment 50199

This really doesn't make any sense because Donte is locked in next year at $12 million. So they don't have the option of re-signing him or not since he's already under contract. Randle is on an ok contract, but its not easy to find a big like him with a motor that can pass, shoot, and rebound like him. The only reason to trade him is his age. This is pure orange and blue kool-aid talk.

You are right about Randle but everybody else knows that, too. I don't think he has a good trade market and I doubt the Wolves will trade him.
