Ayo with another great performance last night. 23 points in 27 minutes on 7-13 FG, 3-5 from three, 9 reb and 6 assists. Likely a triple double but he sat most of the 4Q with a big lead. Has helped fill the void the last 2 games with Edwards injured. He’s still well above 40% on threes. TSJ had 8 points in mop-up duty.

knowing Ayo like I do (don't), that D rating's gonna piss him off:
major testament to his work ethic. this should be exhibit 1 to those claiming that development stops at x
Not to sound like Yogi Berra, but development stops when you quit developing. Or something like that. Ayo doesn't know the meaning of the word quit. Without Ayo, the Illinois program probably would not be where it is today.

Regarding Ayo's defensive rating, from what I've read that stat is essentially how many points you give up to a player you are guarding per 100 possessions. In games I've watched, Ayo often is tasked to defend the other team's best guard. Not sure his defense isn't better than his defensive rating.

Fixed it for you.
Yesterday, the TImberwolves won in Boston for the first time in 7,686 days (i.e. since March 6, 2005!) playing without their star player Anthony Edwards.
AYO's stat line: 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, one steal and two blocks.
In a contract year, AYO's EDG work ethic is finally going to pay off. Couldn't happen to a more deserving ILLINI.
