Your bolded statement is exactly right, and your original statement is opinion only. There's nothing wrong with you loving AP more...but, that doesn't make him the "Best shooter in Illinois history." TSJ is also listed in the PDF previously, linked, and he played after the 3 pt distance was extended. Exclusive 3-pt makes or percentage also "has no bearing on a player’s ability" when it comes to gauging overall shooting.
The list of players to whom I would give a nod is not comprehensive. But, if you're going to say a player is the best in Illinois history in any category, I am certainly not going to favor a player who played in only 33 games as an Illini no matter how much I liked him, and I liked AP a lot.

They might be open to moving Mathurin for Watson.
I would take a healthy, sober, Jamar Smith over any of them when it comes to shooting 3s. Oh what could have been.

He graduated, so fair, but at the same time he still made the choice to leave and play for a rival. Then didn't do himself any favors with his social media freakout after the beat down in Bloomington where he told Indiana fans not to "switch sides".
Seems like a stretch. He would've been fighting Jake Davis for 8th man minutes and IU has lost any meaningful rival status in the 2020s. I like Luke but he was a liability defensively and wasn't a great rebounder for his size. We ended up in a better spot with Jake.
Re: "switching sides", it's a bit out of context don't you think? "To all those fans that were booing and are so negative on social media, just don't switch sides when we get this thing turned around."
