Very impressed with the play of Will Riley who seems to be progressing/improving on schedule. Wizards could make a leap next season if they can find bench players to give them some production. So, where does Trae Young fit? Will he do what it takes to make his team a winner and trust his mates to do their job?

The Wizards have a pretty strong 5-6 man core but it takes more than that to win in the NBA come playoff time. We will see.

BAM on the other hand is stuck on a pretty weak roster with guys who don't like to do much but shoot...and most of them are not very good at that. He may just be able to win a roster spot there just by doing what he does...and well. The Hornets need some good team players that can get it done at both ends as their Summer League Roster is woefully short of those types.

And watching Keaton's game, it appears that the Clippers might have to find a spot for Martinelli and Christie. They provide energy, offense, and smart play off the bench. Keaton is taking what they give him and playing a team game, but the Clippers likely will want him to be far more aggressive on the offensive end...but who knows?

Andrej does not come with Riley blocking him. Wagler never gets the chance to be an All American.

More interesting question is how good is a team with soph KJ soph Riley added to Kylan, Tomi, Big Z, and improved Ben H. I think it probably makes 2nd weekend and loses. Having Keaton #5 pick in draft and adding Andrej and David trumps keep KJ and Riley.
I don't see why KJ and Will returning would have stopped them from getting Mirk.

Probably would have been rough defensively and Wagler likely buried behind Boswell, but a lineup of KJ, Wagler, Riley, Mirk, and Tomi might have averaged 100 per game.

Love the espn hype of Wagler vs acuff, and Keaton just spent the whole 1st qtr trying to establish his post players.

Issue with these summer league games is there’s always gonna be guys looking to graduate from 10 day contracts. So, they’re inevitably gonna look to get their shots up.

Wagler really struggled with the on ball pressure tonight. Couldn’t drive by anyone

Rough start for Keaton, huh? Didn’t have a chance to watch the game, but the box score isn’t pretty. 7 points on 1-7 shooting. 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and a -23 in a 6 point loss.

I watched the game. He was very passive. Rarely looked for his own shots, compared to Acuff who did very well in this game. Not sure if by design or first game nerves. The Kings defended him very hard. Doubled teamed him a surprising amount for a summer league game. He had trouble getting any kind of space all game long. Also all his misses were short. To make matters worse, his teammates were all big time chuckers and barely looked to pass to him, even when he was wide open.
