Illini in the Pros (Football)

Much is (rightfully) made of Luke turning down big money down south to stay here, but I have no idea how we were able to hang on to Gabe.
Our guys were excited to be a part of what we had coming back for 2025. There was a really positive culture in the building that guys didn't take for granted, and as BB has mentioned at times, we've had players leave the program and want to come back, so Luke and Gabe will have been aware that the grass isn't always greener.

I know there were some disappointments along the way, but I really, really reject the notion that last year wasn't a success.

2024-2025 is going to be a period for this program that is fondly remembered for a long, long time.

Definitely, I more meant that I can't believe we got four years of him after it was obvious the second he stepped on the field that he was destined to be a difference-maker in the league. The sharks were circling from the word go.

I would too, but I dont think Nate would come back to college for anything less than a P4 HC job.
I think McVay has already had 5 assistants go directly from his staff to being NFL head coaches...I'm betting Nate isn't leaving for anything less than an NFL HC position.

I'm betting Nate isn't leaving for anything less than commissioner.

Am I doing it right?
