- how was I to know, she was with the Russians too?
not as good as Stellon's, but a banger nevertheless
Still might finish in the bottom quarter of the conference but definitely improved over recent years. This team was picked to finish 15th in the B1G, so this start is particularly impressive.
It's only one data point, but Purdue (picked 11th) lost at home to DePaul, 2-0, while Illinois won at DePaul 2-0, so at the very least it suggests they can be competitive within the conference.Still might finish in the bottom quarter of the conference but definitely improved over recent years.
It will be nice if they can be competitive in conference. JR was a nice person but she really should have been replaced 5 years ago. She really struggled to land any of the top instate talent. New coach seems to be tactically superior too. It's only one data point, but Purdue (picked 11th) lost at home to DePaul, 2-0, while Illinois won at DePaul 2-0, so at the very least it suggests they can be competitive within the conference.
EDIT: They also get the benefit of avoiding USC and UCLA, clearly the conference's top 2 this year. So that could help them finish even higher.
MSU has been very good and still have a lot of talent, at Washington will be tough, northwestern just beat TCU who was top 5 in the nation, Rutgers is typically a quality side. Winning 5 of the 11 conference games would be a massive achievementThis team has greatly improved, and they have a pretty favorable B1G schedule this year. I'm guessing they finish top half and maybe even top 4 in conference.
Not playing UCLA, Iowa and Wisconsin is a huge gift. The only truly difficult (and maybe unwinnable games) are PSU and OSU.
