Seeing the team struggle in the Bradley exhibition match and just noticing the Tamas got a contract extension just a couple of weeks ago. Anyone got any insight into the thinking on that, particularly the timing?

Dropped an exhibition match to Bradley today, at home, {3-1). Bradley finished 8th in the Missouri Valley last year with a record of 7-9.

I don't know the financial terms of the new contract but last year Tomas had the fourth highest salary in the conference:

I see that list and do not understand these comments people are saying JW is making about the resources to compete. In particular paying more for Tamas than Shondell seems especially strange.

Tamas is definitely overpaid for being a lower tier coach. Obviously Illinois admin no longer cares about volleyball. Even with archaic facilities Illini used to have better coaching, recruited elite players and were one of the premier teams in country for years. Sticking with Tamas and just accepting mediocre results is proof.
